In this video, we're excited to guide you through the remarkable capabilities of GA4's library section. Gain valuable insights as we delve into storing existing reports and creating customized ones, all while exploring the convenience of collections for streamlined analytics and a seamless migration to GA4.
Accessing the library section is a breeze. Simply navigate to the reports section, and at the bottom, you'll find the "Library" folder. It's here that your existing reports reside, conveniently accessible both in standard sections and the library. The real power lies in the ability to craft tailor-made reports, thanks to the customizable nature of GA4. You can even group reports into collections, ensuring optimal organization and efficiency.
GA4 offers pre-made templates, providing a solid foundation to build upon. Join us as we demonstrate the creation of an empty collection, taking you step by step through adding topics and incorporating both ready-made and new reports. Topics are integral to collections, and we'll show you how simple it is to add, rename, reorder, or remove them as needed.
Our tutorial will showcase the creation of a Legacy Collection, featuring a popular report from Universal Analytics (UA) known as the Channels report. While this report isn't readily available in GA4 by default, we'll utilize a Traffic acquisition template to expedite the process.
We'll explore primary dimensions within the report, such as Default Channel Grouping, "source/medium," "Source," and "Medium" - familiar territory for those accustomed to UA. Furthermore, we'll address the metric name changes between UA and GA4. For instance, Bounce Rate has been replaced by Engagement Rate in GA4, but we'll incorporate the original Bounce Rate metric in our Legacy Collection. Additionally, we'll cover other crucial metrics like Pages per Session, Goal Completions (now Conversions), Conversion Rate, and more.
Discover how to apply filters, with the flexibility to add up to 5 different conditions. We'll also guide you in selecting chart visualizations, ensuring your reports are visually appealing and informative. And don't miss our walkthrough on creating summary cards, which can be seamlessly integrated into overview reports. Along the way, we'll share some valuable tips and tricks to enhance your GA4 experience.
By the end of this video, you'll have a Legacy Collection that mirrors the reports you were accustomed to in your old Google Analytics (UA). Stay tuned for upcoming videos, where we'll unveil additional useful reports and provide detailed instructions on their creation. We'll also discuss reports that aren't currently available for collection creation, shedding light on the key differences in metrics and their calculations between UA and GA4.
