I cant believe that a single mom would do all of these things for her child. I used to do gymnastics and my parents complained for years that I should give it up so they wouldn't have to bother driving me 30 minutes to the other side of town. Im in awe of the support Gabby had.

I hate it when Walters tries so hard to get into her business about her dad. But Gabby handled it with grace especially for her age.

Reminded me of the old SNL bits, where they'd have the "Barbara Walters" character interview some celebrity, and her goal was always to try to get the celebrity to break down in tears.

I am glad that girls today have a positive role model as Gabby Douglas. I am so sick of the racist comments toward her. I believe she deserves her medals and worked hard to get them .Give credit where credit is due . It doesn't matter what race she is.

Wow no father in her life and she still dealt with it and became a champion. Here we have all these whinos and victim mentality- "poor me I grew up without a father". Gabby teaches them a thing or two or three.
@TheSaltyAdmiral9 жыл бұрын
So if 1/100 makes it without a father, you're going to tell all the other 99 that they are basically losers with no excuse because ONE of them made it? Thats just stupid, and cruel. All the creds in the world to this girl who made it despite the odds, but that does not mean that all others who don't make it, someone are responsible for their own misfortune.

Some of you are just plain ignorant can't you just be happy that she was a woman black or white or whatever and one of those that came from poverty and changed her life why do we always gotta be about color always a smartass grow up be happy for somebody we all can be what we want to be in a car accident almost paralyzed on one side and one leg but now I'm undergraduate school and I'm writing the book and I'm from the Poor Side of Town Ed possible when you put your mind to it and have your faith in Jesus

why is she saying woman of color, she's the first AMERICAN gymnast period to win both medals. race has nothing to do with this "rolling eyes"
@extra_ice_girl10 жыл бұрын
Finally someone who agrees with me! I hate the term African American, Asian American, ect. If you live here you're an American no matter what the color of your skin is. I don't go around telling people I'm a European American.
@kenmax20089 жыл бұрын
The word "colored" is pure racist and obsolete and should never be use again.
