Army officers who seized power in a coup in Gabon on Wednesday have named General Brice Oligui Nguema as the West African state's transitional leader.
Gen Nguema was earlier carried triumphally through the streets of the capital Libreville by his troops.
The deposed President, Ali Bongo, has appeared in a video at his home, calling on his "friends all over the world" to "make noise" on his behalf.
The former French colony is one of Africa's major oil producers.

funny how people are unaware of whats going on, the gas pipeline that runs from russia to germany and other euoropean countries was blown up by the Americans, then Europe started a gas pipeline project from Nigeria to run through Niger to Europe, then suddenly there is a coup to frustrate the project and supply of gas to europe, theres a video in the net on question time in the US senate or so, the Military generals were questioned on the role US soldier were/are playing in coups in Africa, the US general openly admitted that they have sponsored these coups in the Sahel, the question is what is really going on?

@@murasakinomorado7210 I agree, but how do you honestly expect to take on a nuclear power with one of the strongest armies in Europe, if not the strongest? They are ruthless hypocrites who believe if they open the border to more brown people who aren't Europeans and pass more transgender legislation, this forgives their crimes. It doesn't. They will fight brutally. They will even recolonize and claim it to be a 'peacekeeping mission'. You may never get back what is yours but if you succeed in kicking them out and reclaiming the means to extract your own wealth, you will bounce back. France won't.

It’s not that democracy is a scam it’s that most African countries and African people don’t know how to implement it correctly. In Many African countries the common person doesn’t have real representation, African countries tend to centralize all the power into one instead of spreading it around equally or somewhat equally among independent individuals, lastly the leaders are unwilling to give up power

How can anyone say that an election was free and fair when the press, foreign observers and the opposition were barred from contesting or observing the election? Because Biden is doing the same thing in America it has now been accepted as the norm. Such broad day robbery and infringement on people’s rights may be acceptable to the hypocrites in the UN but it remains repulsive to those who have been traumatized by seeing their votes being reduced to nothing. Such people will rather welcome a coup than live under election thieves to please the UN hypocrites.

Brice Clotaire Oligui-Nguema, the Gabonese president’s cousin, purchased this $447,000 Silver Spring property in 2018 without a mortgage. He bought three properties in middle- and working-class neighborhoods in the Maryland suburbs of Hyattsville and Silver Spring, just outside the capital, in 2015 and 2018. The homes were purchased with a total of over $1 million in cash. Marie-Madeleine Mborantsuo’s daughter sold one D.C. property in September 2020.

All this coup is the wrong way for Africa. We need to do better, and the fact they all want support from Putin means they want to be dictators, and that will be bad for Africa. I seen this picture before in Africa and it only end up in destruction. Watch Sudan and South Sudan, West Africa over 5 million people die in the 80’s 90’s and 2000’s.

British and condemning. They did not condemn an election carried out with swtiched off internet and electricity. They have not condemned the sham election in Nigeria which has been adjudged shambolic and far below standards by various EU and western observers.

To: Rwanda, Russia, North Korea, China, Singapore, just to name a few countries under dictatorship, and to the 95% of African countries under TOTAL bad governance, it might take really long to revolt, generations even but know that revolution will come. This is 2023. This is the age of decentralized knowledge. knowledge is power. The people have access to knowledge now, and they are powerful.

When people are happy with their government, that's the democracy we need in Africa. We do not want foolishness in the name of "Democracy" when people are unhappy with their government. The way I see the Gabonees are happy in the streets, that sounds like a new African Democracy, and I believe It is from God the almighty.
