I may be the only one that feels this way, but, this song pulls something in me and I feel a lightening of my chest and my heart starts to flutter and I begin to dissolve into another world. In simpler terms, this song is indescribably beautiful.

I love how he rescues her and her clothes turn from black to white. Then the "darkness" tries to reclaim her but she resists. Then she is healed and he lets her go.

A blind 14 year old girl sung this and played piano on Britain's got talent. She couldn't see the entire arena giving her a standing ovation. Beautiful !!! ❤️

Many years ago, I was in a job, in my early Fifties, working 5 days a week, leaving home at 6.30am,, a single mum with two school aged children. Luckily, my elderly Mum lived not too far from my kids' schools so they made their way there after school and she minded them until I got there at 7pm. They were long, tiring days and I had a 30 minute car drive to the nearest train station, then a one hour train journey, then a 15 minute walk to my job; then back home each night. EVERYDAY on my one hour morning train journey AND my one hour evening train journey, I played this song (and no other song) on repeat. Over and over I played this beautiful song, closed my eyes, and drifted away for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening and dreamed of spending more time with my children and not with the rich, greedy horrible people I worked with. It's tranquil piano music, and Gabielle Aplin's Angeliic voice, together with my weekends spent with my beautiful son and daughter, got me through those years of mundane work/bills/debt/stress/endless exhaustion. I NEVER get tired of hearing it. I must have listened to it, literally tens of thousands of times during those years. I'm in my sixties now, kids are grown up adults and I have grandchildren. I still play this song on repeat, now, in 2023, when I have time to. Thank you Gabrielle! For helping me survive a difficult time in my life. 😍😘🌻

I think this talks about a love-hate relationship first everything's fine (they're both wearing white), then she wears a black dress and he's wearing white (maybe that symbolizes love and hate), plus look at the movements they do on 2:13-2:2, on that part of the video she grabs him but he's showing his back to her and then she let's him go but he pulls her towards him. Then they both wear white again, then he wears black and she wears white and at the end they're both wearing white but she walks away as if they both finally find peace when one of them leaves.
