I understand Nemophila was also on the bill at the same festival. Tamu Murata was VERY busy that day, filling in w/o much rehearsal time on some pretty challenging repertoire that was not "her own." That's why for me she's one of the best. Period.

You were right. Gacharic Spin drummer Yuri was on maternity leave that time. Levin, the drummer of La'cryma Christi was covering Yuri's place on all GS show during Yuri's leave but since NAONのYAON is dedicated to only female artists, Levin was not permitted to play. Therefore, Tamu filled in for Yuri and was seen reading the music sheets for the entire performance. That was not the first time Tamu supporting Gacharic Spin. Back in 2018 during Gacharic Spin tour, Tomo-zo (guitar) was hospitalized due to an accident so Hana (drums & vocal that time, now Hana is guitar & vocal) took over Tomo-zo's role and Tamu was called in to cover for Hana's seat. Gacharic Spin could pick any session guitarist to cover for Tomo-zo but it seemed they prefer Tamu to stepped in for Hana who was covering for Tomo-zo. That again shows how reliable Tamu's drumming skills is and how thoughtful she is for answering emergency request in such short notice.

Tamu is phenomenal and if you look closely you can see that she is sometimes looking at sheet music to her left which makes sense with all the time changes. Gacharic Spin is great. I love how they have their own sound with very original songs that always seem to have a few surprises in them.

Wow. Fun seeing Tamu guest. She's just awesome. One of my favorite things Tamu did was Baby Shark with her family. Not only is she an awesome drummer, she's a multi-instrumentalist and looks to be a wonderful Mom. Murata Tamu is Japanese form. Western form is Tamu Murata. So who is backwards, Japanese or US? 🤨🤔 What other countries have sir name first given name second? Gacharic Spin is another fun and great band. Best name in all of Rock and Roll history is F Chopper Koga. I guess Oreo Reona is maybe the second coolest name in all of Rock and Roll. Both even better than Udo Dirkschneider. Speaking of keyboard players thrashing behind the keys there is Yuri from Fate Gear. In Battle Against Justice her makeup makes her look like a broken doll. All of these bands are so good live. The drummers in Japan are all monsters just terrorizing those drum kits. Who says a woman can't bang those skins hard, accurate and fast?

Well it’s always raining during this event but 2022 was actually the torrential downpour one with the epic finale with like 80 musicians on stage drenched head to toe lol😊

You can clearly see that Tamu is sightreading at some points because she doesn't really know the song that well. I have said it before, but I am always amazed when drummers are sightreading while basically moving their 4 limbs at different intervals as well. I can not imagine how comfortable with drumming you must be to be able to do that. I believe Senri was the first one I have seen doing this, but I have noticed it with Tamu as well on multiple occasions. it blows my mind. Also, Murata Tamu's "nickname" in Soramimi was tmtm. The funny thing is that their website is still online, which is how I noticed that

They just announced Naon Yaon 2023, Will be April 29th with Show Ya, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, and Lonesome Blue. This video is from 2021 and there was some rain. In 2022 it poured.

GS is so inspirational, this is title track to album specifically/officially for the 2020 Paralympics, “happy”, “number one”, “I’ll go my way”, etc (those just the English bits). Also, “like if Rush took an angry rapper to a rave.” Tamu, as in bang a drum, a Tomtom, maybe a Tama? Her real name is Ai Murata (Ai means love, a common girls name.) Japan does ast name first tho, so her stage name is “mu ra ta-ta mu” :: mu mu, with rat-ta-ta-tat in the middle. This is Naon no Yaon ‘21 when Nemophila played the rain, Dissension was new, Mayu still had the Orange hair from the video shoot. Naon no Yaon does so well fostering their scene; TomoZo often backs other bands, esp reunions with incomplete members, and superstar medleys they do every year (not just Saki’s guitar girl’s collection, but the encores with all the singers). And that year they had Angie, Mayu, Eye from Mary’s Blood included in that, plus organizer Keiko from ShowYa of course. Another cool point: Murata-san was the first drummer for GS that wasn’t Hana (then Yuri, then fillin Levi(Levin? I forget, sorry dude).). TomoZo was sick, so Hana played guitar (probably knew it all, probably wrote the majority of riffs, tho not solos), Tamu was already legendarily good (still, no one came to mind to replace TomoZo? Nope, can’t do it.) iirc, it was only months before they had to find (the spot that became Angie’s), and it surely put the bug in the ear to maybe stay out front and find a drummer too. Paid off. Lastly tho, all leads to this. This was a new song. Watch it again with an eye specifically on Tamu. Now I’m sure she practiced, she’s not “sight reading”. But she IS reading, still relying on the score for this piece. Ouch!, that’s a big wow for me. But that’s how pro she is. Jazz this, XJapan speed that, full on multi instrumentalist like Miyako or Hana. Hey Tamu, want Sax on your solo record?, film your progress as you learn saxophone in 3 months. Look for it… Love it 🤘🤘 In your spreadsheet I saw Roulette, very cool, made me think of two things. The guitar effect in that song was put into a custom pedal for TomoZo, which actually had a (limited) production run. Might be able to find a cool interview about it, but my memory is that it didn’t have subtitles (maybe I’ll request them, a few channels translating and reissuing such vids now.). Secondly, I can’t find this vid on KZfaq, but such an awesome medley of three early GS songs (songs from Armmy, but done after she was gone). Even more show diversity than you can imagine?! Murata Tamu has been the "house" drummer for Naon no Yaon for many years, so this is very much in her wheelhouse. What a phenomenal musician, thanks for finding this!

tamu looked at the sheet music when she played, which proves that she is not very familiar with GS songs, she is a musician who understands music theory very well, so she just play with sheet music🤘🏻💯

Nemophila is in the line up for this years Naon no Yaon again...and of course Gacharic Spin, GS are almost as important as Show-Ya the past few years, Tomo-Zo is involved a lot.

Thanks for this one. GS and Tamu have been at a lot of these shows over the years. Also, Fuki used to have similar shows where she invites all her friends, can't remember what the name was but remember seeing a video about it, GS was also there. Tumu also had Yoyoka at last years show.

What a great song. Tamu seems to bring more intensity that Yuri. If you get a chance, during this Naon Yaon concert, there is a guy in the booth to the right, and he is just bopping his head ar ound to the music. It's quite funny.
