true,he is clueless but if you look closely, you'll notice that he was unfairly fired from the first two jobs. the fast food manager should have overlooked the fire cause of Gadget's probably record breaking sale and the taxi dispatch should have kept Gadget because he has more anti traffic jam intuition and adabtability then all of those cabbies put together! i mean, he got the fare to the destination with minutes to spare!
