How To Remove a Stuck or Swollen Camera Battery - EASIEST METHOD - (Sony, Nikon, & Canon Cameras)

In this video I'll show you a technique I used to remove a stuck, swollen aftermarket lithium battery from a used Sony A6300 that I purchased. Smacking the camera did nothing, prying on the battery did nothing, this battery was STUCK. I used double-sided 3M tape and a golf tee to remove the stuck battery in question. The stuck battery was an aftermarket Patona battery that swelled up.
This method is applicable to many camera models as most use a similar battery compartment design. DO NOT stick tweezers or a knife in the battery compartment! Use this method! Do not use force!
Ultimately, this technique that I am showing is the BEST method because it has the least potential for damage or harm to the camera. That being said, I am not responsible for any damage that occurs if you use this method. Take your time.
Do not buy cheap Amazon batteries, it is not worth it! Buy OEM!

thanks for this! I used double sided tape with another camera battery, which covered the entire surface of the stuck, after market Amazon battery. Worked like a charm, really appreciate it

This worked for me after trying and giving up over and over again for months! I used a 3m command poster strip, cut it in half and stacked it on itself so the “wall” side touched both the battery and the desk drawer knob I used to pull it off. Thank you so much!

Hi Gadget: I use my Dad's old 35 mm Nikkormatt FT2 SLR with the one flat disk battery accessed from the bottom; however, in the future you can always run a thin string or flat ribbon (the kind cake shops tie their boxes with or can be bought at any sewing store or sewing aisle of any Wal-Mart)underneath the battery and up its sides to overhang the edge of the battery compartment like the battery compartments of alarm clocks which come with a built in ribbon to snap the AA or AAA battery out. To change your battery, you simply pull the two overhangs to LIFT the battery out and repeat by underwrapping the new battery with the string or ribbon prior to insertion. ❤Diane, Vancouver, Canada. Happened to me just now, really useful vide of yours^^ I didn't have any tape at home, however, I have a really strong magnet that came with my osmo mobile 4. I used the magnet to pry the battery out.
