YOOO! Gaeko saved this cypher, he absolutely SMASHED it! Give this man more respect!
Today I'm reacting to the SMTM10 Producer Cypher and give my honest thoughts and first impressions on all of the verses as well as rank them at the end of the video.
I was so and so on this whole cypher. It is among the weaker ones if we actually compare it to all of the other ones. Season 777 might still have the worst producer cypher of all time, but season 10 comes close. Which is partly just due to the line up of producers but also thanks to the laziness of both Zion.T's and YUMDDA's team.
Not only were both far shorter than the Mino & GRAY team as well as the Gaeko & CODE KUNST team, Zion.T was just lazily singing some stuff together on a slow beat. He can do much better than that.
Although I actually liked YUMDDA's performance and the peat from Toil, it turns out that was actually an official song from them so it kind of takes away all the credit I had for that performance. Considering that fact, the performance was average at best.
Now, coming to the two best verses on this cypher. First of all, on second place for me, is the Mino & GRAY team. Mino did great, stable and delived his lyrics well. He did what I expected and that was good. GRAY coming out to actually rap himself though was the surprise of this cypher and my highlight, he was on fire!
On first place, far and beyond, is the Gaeko & CODE KUNST team with Gaeko straight up popping off. He had diverse flows, a 150 second verse (the longest on this cypher by far) and called himself the "Greatest Of All Time" (G.O.A.T.). Gaeko is SHINING without Choiza, and I love it! Get the man some respect on his name!

Gaeko/Code Kunst and Mino/Gray are the teams I’m really looking forward to. Both of those teams have a really skilled rapper and a great producer. Mino is an extremely skilled rapper and lyricist. His verse here is mind-blowing if you understand Korean. He manipulates consonants to get different wordplays and punchlines and even Korean-speakers were shook. He has a unique style as a producer too from what I noticed off his latest album (highly recommend). Gaeko, of course, expecting nothing less than amazing from such a legend. Yeah I’m also not convinced on Yumdda and I thought his beat was just another generic trap beat. I guess the focus of this season will be for producers to find rappers that will fit their style of songs vs who is the best technically perhaps. There was that element in previous seasons somewhat but especially this one since the lineup is so producer-heavy. I’m expecting a lot of great songs this season though

I am onto learning korean and will study it at university starting october, so I hope I can pick up these rhyme schemes that Mino did or also BewhY does a shit ton in the future. Looking forward to that. I am just kinda worried with these producers man.. I already know the main storyline is gonna be Mino vs Basick again, the SMTM4 revival. But after that, what's next? Gaeko has been on the show multiple times, so has Code Kunst. That team is probably gonna be the clowns of the show. But the others? Don't really get me excited. And when I think back to that STACKED season 9 producer's line up, I'm thinking that an anniversary season 10 might be a bit lackluster from the beginning with this. They need to do something to hype the show up. You know what I have been thinking? Why won't they do another surprise america's audition and pay Dok2 to come there. He has appeared on the new BewhY album with a korean feature, the first in years. So maybe that was him dipping his feet back into the Khiphop scene? I'd love to see it and I think it'd be ultra hype for SMTM10

@@kruel_hiphop I get where you're coming from with the "drama" aspect of the show and yes they definitely will be leaning into the Mino/Basick drama but it reminded me of how last season they made suuuch a big deal about Swings being such a villain in the beginning when in reality that whole debacle isn't what stood out to me about the overall season. I think they'll make a big deal out of the Mino/Basick thing in the beginning but they are genuinely on good terms with each other so I don't think it can drag on that long. I just wanna see some super unknown rappers get the spotlight instead of highlighting those who already have a following. Apparently this season has the most applicants in SMTM history, especially because a lot of unknown rappers haven't made money from live gigs for over a year due to covid. dude Dok2 coming back as a feature or something would be so hype, yeah I really hope they pull off something super exciting like that.

@@kruel_hiphop First, in lyrics he says "Come to stage. Welcome, especially girls, the perfect spot is the very first row, where you can see my jaw" then he says PIMFY. It's like a form to say that he wants people who like him to see his shows and appreciate his works, showing being grateful. Then he says "You, crossing your arms, go(like if you won't be doing nothing go away). And if you're going to take selfies, setting us as the background, move backward" NIMBY. Basically, he says if you don't fucks with him, go away. And if you're going to use him just for clout and gain fame, he don't want you around too. Not in my back yard also means you can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't disturb me, which is usually associated as characterization of opposition by residents to proposed developments in their local area, as well as support for strict land use regulations. It carries the connotation that such residents are only opposing the development because it is close to them and that they would tolerate or support it if it were built farther away. The residents are often called Nimbys, and their viewpoint is called Nimbyism (according to the wiki).

I actually like how there are more actual Producers than just stacking rappers based on their reputation as a rapper into the producer team. It's a nice balance, 1 rapper 1 producer. I mean they aren't the one that gonna compete with rapping skills on the show, it was the contestant's job to do that. Their responsibility in the competition are producing song for their team. Gray and Mino's team are going to be great since both of them can make a good song. This is Zion.T's 3rd season. While his own music mainly R&B focused, his melodic rap style is really good. I think its great that one of the producers are a melodic rappers because what if one of the contestant is a melodic rapper but because there's no melodic rapper on the producers team they can't really show their strength. Although most, if not all, contestant are flow rappers. I don't like Yumdda's songs as well, but toil and yumdda on production is not that bad. Gaeko and Cokun is the team to watch in this season. Gaeko is definitely not underrated in Korea, actually a lot of Koreans likes him. Gaeko is often considered as the best rapper in the history of k-hiphop, in korea even if you don't rank him as the best you still called him one of the best. This producer cypher considered one of the best, the dislike is not because people doesn't like it. Mnet is under fire because they remix Islam's call to prayers as an opening to one of their show. So a lot of people just disliking mnet's video.

Thank you for explaining the dislikes on the video! As for your other comments, I will adress some: - I agree it's cool there are producers but I think having rappers is important too, because they not only produce for contestants, they also judge them (1st Round Audition & 2nd Round Firepit), so they need rap knowledge first and foremost. Also I just don't like that we have two sing-rap artists with Yumdda and Zion.T now. There's only two rappers in the whole judging panel and it's Mino and Gaeko - I did not mean that Gaeko is underrated in Korea. I know he isn't. I know he is very popular and known to be among the best. What I was trying to say is that he is super underrated internationally. Nobody really knows him outside of Korea and it's a shame - I still think this PD Cypher is among the worst ever. Season 6,8 and 9 were all much better. And I'm sure Season 5 and earlier were good too, rap quality wise. I don't remember if they had any cyphers in those seasons tho and if they had, I forgot them (it has been too long since then)

It realy is criminal how poeple just dont know dynamic duo. Its the same with Huckleberry P. International fans just don't know about some rappers who in Korea are very well respected.

Toil is a really good producer, but I'm surprised that he got chosen to be a producer because he's not famous at all. He mostly did work with Lellamarz and Skinny Brown up until this point. I think he's produced a few Yumdda tracks in the past too, so I guess he has that connection

Yea the track he did with Yumdda here is an official song of the two that existed prior, I found out later. That's indeed a connection thing I'd assume. Mnet prolly wanted Yumdda and he said "it has to be Toil!". I don't know why they would get Yumdda over almost any other rapper tho. Also where the female producers/rappers at? Would've been a cool premiere for s10. Something like Hoody or smth.

You would think i'll jam more to the other 3 bc i loveee like dreamy vibe beats on raps but i find myself leaning on Gray x Mino's song... 😅 ngl im hype for this season. (Btw they could've made like one legit hype song AND a slow viby song ..bc u right, it throws off the whole "cypher")

I don't know if I like that the two slow verses are right after another as well. It's good and bad. Good because we have it over with and Gaeko can end on a hype note, but it's also bad because it made me forget the Mino & GRAY verse already by the time Yumdda was done

I definitely think this was the worse SMTM Cypher. The only people who think this is the best are Mino's fans Also, SMTM Cyphers started with SMTM6 It's not like it's bad, but reminds me of something like SMTM777(as a season), good songs but barely rap which is completely disappointing for a rap show Gaeko x Code Kunst are way above of any other team in terms of everything, but well, I'm honestly happy enough knowing that Giriboy is not going to mess up again this season lmao (I love him but man plz)
