Plot twist: The Yardiran Fleet isn't here to make war, they're here to seek a peaceful resolution. Sirius was acting on his own and their Empress had no knowledge of his actions until it was too late. She has come to offer her own head as recompense, knowing that if a war of vengeance breaks out between them, best case scenario is that one of their species survives but just barely. She wants the bloodshed to end on both sides and is here to beg for the end of the cycle of vengeance between them.

For the love of God, man, give us more. The story needs to be told in full detail. Please finish the whole story it's awesome.

The war lasted for decades. Admiral douglas didn't live to see it's ending. His sucessor, Admiral Laura Grant, was the one to order the glassing of the last Yaderan-occupied planet, causing the race to go extinct, within the following two weaks, as the remaining ships of the Yaderan fleets were taken out one by one. No call for surrender was accepted, or even responded to. Other species had offered to come to aid the Yaderans, or shelter their refugees. Every time they did, the Humans glassed two of their worlds, told them to surrender and hand over any Yaderan refugees they shelter, or share the fate of that species, or share their fate. Most backed down. And those who didn't, were hunted until they were extinct or surrendered unconditionally. Out of the 4 species that stood by the Yaderans, only the Vakhulan outlived them, to find themselves enslaved by the Humans, and used for labor in asteroid mines. Their militaries disolved entirely, their governments forced to bow to human law, they were allowed to keep their planets, in exchange for a 30% cut of their entire planetary economic output, and manpower for the asteroid mines, to mine out the metals and minerals to build even more warships, even more planet-busters... The peace-treaty between Humanity and the Galactic Council, after the extinction of the Yaderans, quickly summarized and simplefied, ammounts to this: Humans get all the planets, resources and technology from the Species they defeated, no longer respond to Galactic Council Law, and the council promises to never again turn down a formal Demand from Humanity, no matter how ridiculous, and if a Member of any species ever fucks with Humans again, Humanity has the right to wipe that species from the stars. Or to summarize it even further: "You fuck with us, fuck you and die"

If the bugs wanted to win, to truly defeat humanity, they should just ignore them. One world gone, big deal, bugs don't care about eggs. The empress could have broadcasted to the galaxy that the scientist was acting alone, even if he wasn't, and that the bugs are willing to offer peace. See, that would really piss humans off. No war to vent their anger AND it shifts the moral high ground to the bugs, if humans attack they'll be seen as the bad guys. Humans NEED that moral high ground to justify their atrocities, otherwise they go limp as a wet noodle lol.

I was hoping for a longer one, hoping to hear about Humanity taking a L at first, then a series of W until Yadirans retreat and disappear because the Council, seeing that Humanity IS strong enough to defeat Yadirans, decide to ban those insects from developping spaceships and weapons.
