I would love to see a feature length animated movie with these characters, especially the ones in the illustration. They remind me of war bears like in The Golden Compass, but I assume they're dogs from the story.

Stilted and shambling like a zombie. This story might have some redeeming qualities with a living being reading it instead of a string of words glued together by a dispassionate algorithm.
