I also did like Mantaro/Kid Muscle and how Marc Thompson is as him, managing to show he can be a coward but when he steps up, he becomes the hero he can be just like his dad was.

Personally I do think some of the voices are actually pretty good and fit the characters. My favorites and my opinion the best are: Kid Muscle/Mantaro Sunshine Kevin Mask Terryman Robin Mask Brocken Jr Ramenman The Ninja Asuraman (here not the anime version) Terry the Kid Bone Cold Kinkotsuman Mars The rest I don’t like and hate for the characters, like Buffaloman as he’s supposed to be Spanish and not Russian, Kinnikuman (King Muscle), Kamehameha (I hate the most)

I also realize that Sunshine's VA is the same person in the 4Kids dub of Crocodile in One Piece

Out of all of the dubs it was the least offense retelling/dubbing 4kids has done next to maybe Yugioh since they took that one serious. Broken Jr and Jager's VAs though.... the accents HURT. Wish we had a proper sub/dub of the Kinnikuman story though. We missed out on some top tier games and media

@@TheDeathMare To be perfectly honest, They tried too hard to make the anime Kinnikuman Nisei like the original Kinnikuman anime. Cutting out arcs, ending the series on a filler arc, making Dik Dik and Wally's role similar to Kinkotsuman and Iwoa. The manga was far superior and meant as an anniversary product for adult fans, while they made the anime for kids. I'm not saying that the original Japanese language version wasn't good for what it was, but the team 4Kids had writing for the series was their top tier comedy team and elevated a lot of the series. I find it somewhere between a gag dub and a humor equivalent dub. They also went on to work on the sadly unappreciated Funky Cops dub that makes the newer English dub of the series feel dull and lifeless. Still, I wish there was someone who did fansubs of all the episodes of Kinnikuman Nisei, just for comparison's sake.

@@mightyfilm I can see that and 100% agree. Personally the Manga for both OG and Nisei where better then their anime counter parts for me personally. Would love to a more faithful adaption that plays the line between gag anime and serious Shonen style better. Both need to treated as important because you can't have one without the other and still be Kinnikuman

There actually WAS a special Kinnikuman themed wrestling show in 2009 which had a lot of wrestlers portraying the characters, like Kinnikuman, Robin Mask, Mongolman, and even Sunshine!

That's true. I guess they just had to go with it since 4Kids never did the prior Kinnikuman anime, then again Geronimo became Beetlebomb. Though that's a real name so maybe there's some liberty taking with that and 4Kids had to change that name? American anime censorship is weird.

It was their intention to make Geronimo (or Beetlebomb as he's known here) a Beatles impersonation of some sort, which is the dumbest way to work around a character that's supposed to be an Apache. It's not like he's as big of a stereotype as Ramenman or Terryman either.

Kind of funny how he's basically Neptuneman without the costume. Were they even aware of that when they were choosing voices? They seemed to realize Barracuda was really Robin Mask, so what? Also, I am really not sure about Akuma Shogun's voice here. They make him sound like Mojo Jojo. I don't know if I can call that fitting or not.

Kamehame (or in this case, Prince Lou Ow) has the Aussie accent probably due to 4Kids not having anyone on staff that can do a convincing Hawaiian accent.

Andy Canoy Street Scrapper, original name "The Quarreler" was the first alias of Neptune Man. He later became Neptune Man when he was recruited by Neptune King(Big the Budo). The reasoning for Neptune King recruiting him was expanded upon in a recent match in Kinnikuman Resurrection if anyone is interested.

Geronimo's "assimilation" to Beetlebomb is pretty much the worst that 4kids did to any of the choujins, aside from making King Muscle sound like an old geezer.

Good old fashioned guess work. That and a good ear to recognize a voice or two from several anime in NYC.

4Kids uses a lot of their own dubbing actors. Keep an ear out and there's a few Yu-Gi-Oh OG series dub actors. Dan Green as Robin Mask/Barracuda for example.

I don't remember that being an option. This was the era before the whole "dual audio" that's a bit more commonplace nowadays. Only PS2 game I know that has that option is Odin Sphere.

Okay thanks. I was wondering since I was playing some PS2 Dragon Ball Z games that allowed you to change the voices, I was hoping this would do the same. Shame, since I can take the Japanese voices more seriously, as evidenced by these same cutscenes in Kinnikuman Muscle Generations for the PSP.
