When he said he worked at 15 and all that, I'm like in other countries 15 yr old should work and start being responsible and its normal. Majority have feeling of independence and need to move away from their parents influence. Not everybody is brought up being sheltered and living with their parents forever getting things on a platter.

AB speaks from a place with a lot privilege. Him not taking acting too serious in the beginning, privilege. Him not wanting to take any acting job because his bills will get paid in the end, privilege. Him working with a Balki, privilege. But AB it is not ignorant about it, he is in that position and can use it to his advantage. And with the right material is he an amazing actor.

For abhishek, guru and raavan is where he had to transform due to not being the best actor until a director like Mani Ratnam comes along. When actors are repetitive and or typecasted, it becomes a challenge to just get a role and be part of a film where they have no choice but to actually work on the craft which majority actors ignore. Many are like abhishek who take years in his case 20yrs to realize he has to work on his craft.

People like abhishek which is majority of bollywood are not good in their craft so their definition of acting is working in shifts, dancing, lip sync, looking like a hero and spending time on offscreen image. Of course if one is not educated about their profession then they have to resort to doing 100 things to compensate for lack of training. Vikrant, prateik Gandhi and even irfhan khan can do one great performance due to their knowledge of their craft then majority of bollywood stars does in 20 yrs.

Indian cinema especially for Hindi cinema there are 2 threats: first is hindi specific which is it is controlled by non hindi region artists and cultural influence especially Punjabi who promote their culture, and who also exploits hindi region arts, languages, culture, history etc. and it lacks isolated artists who has been unconsciously been matured in their immediate society and can create individualistic original fantasies. 2nd threat is our film industries is monopolized by westernized elites, who live in a emotional western political fantasy (self image, world view) who has accepted being a subject of western mainstream, and who copy paste western socio politico philosophical cultural elements, and who copy paste western trend of using labels, categories to practice and promote same minded closed labelled groupism

I JUST AGREE TO ABHISHEK HERE 21:41 INDIAN FILMS SHOULD NOT LOOSE THAT VERY THING OF OURS- realatibility is nice with what Indian films had that presentation of mega-ness. Also, I really wondered for a long time, why Abhishek didnt have the space like other 2000s actors, because he was different on his way, he was not Amitabh bachhan but ABHISHEK BACHCHAN HAVING HIS ELEMENT, but seeing his films coming more makes many chunks of audiences like me enjoy, being not any typIcal "fan" fan of any actor as such, but admirer of all of our actors, I reallly missed AB earlier being a genz. And, thank you for coming was not about the dress but about the content. Not getting apartner and other problems could havebeen shown wearing those same dress as it is, but if the presentation, dialogues which makes up the content was NOT ON POINT.

I've always been in awe of Koko, but I must say Bhumi articulated her thoughts so well in this discussion. People keep complaining that she is trying to be like other heroines, but the truth is that she IS a south Bombay girl from a privileged section of the society. The fact that you all believed she was a small-town girl is just testament to her craft. Ad thank you for coming with all the flaws, is also one of her best performances. I cant think of another mainstream actress of her age who would shed her ego and put herself out there to be made the butt of all jokes.
