This method can transfer all your apps, messages, photos, videos, files, songs, contacts and more from an iPhone to a Galaxy S20 Ultra. I always get this message 'connection lost disconnect and reconnect the usb cable and try again' using smart switch. I am not sure what do to. Does it also bring app related passwords etc

If you transfer music from an iphone, does it keep album artwork and arrange playlists the same? If you transfer photos, do they remain the same quality and arranged in their folders / albums? Thinking of getting a note 20 ultra

Sadly, yes. If you're switching from iOS to Android and viceversa, you have to repurchase them, not if within the same OS. Two different ecosystems. Sucks! I know. I found out the hard way years ago.

Quick question on my old device (LG G7 thinq) I have pictures saved in different folders from camera, Facebook, screenshots etc so if I do this, can I transfer individual folders? I don't want everything in one folder, I did that mistake when I switched to my G7, two years ago.

Pushing the SIM ejecting tool on the microphone hole won't break or ruin it whatsoever. It is confirmed by JerryRigsEveryThing.

I'd be sceptical if JerryRigsEverything didn't confirm it. Good to know and thanks for posting. I'll have to check out his videos to see how Samsung places the microphone in such a way that it doesn't break.

Most people don't know you have to backup your chat history in the whatsapp settings. I don't think there's another way that actually works

Haha, never said I discovered it, just showing it to people who are new to the platform. I've had a surprising amount of iPhone users telling me they are switching to Android with the Galaxy S20 and they've been asking a bunch of questions about it. Hi, I’m looking to do this but reversed, so wondering if it’s at all possible? I have a Galaxy S9 Plus that came with that usb dongle, but I now have an iPhone 11 and want to transfer my files wired rather than wireless via the Playstore “Move to IOS” app (at at least two hours estimated I anticipate this being majorly tedious). Thanks for any help

I have always reinstalled everything from scratch when moving from my current android phone to a new one - in an effort to prevent any app issues that may have been effecting the old phone from effecting the new. If I use this feature to move apps and home screen layout I assume the apps are effectively re-installed from scratch and that non of their data/settings from the data/cache partitions is copied across that might bring issues with it ?

Some of the apps bring data over too, but not all. I've personally used smart switch at least a dozen times over the past few years and I've never had a problem with app data corruption. Saves a ton of time. Definitely worth a shot. Worst case, you could uninstall an app that's giving you issues and reinstall it from scratch.

No. It's been my experience that you'll lose your WhatsApp chats when switching to a different OS. The WhatsApp chat back ups into Google Drive use a different language than the chat back ups in the Apple iCloud. Been thru that twice. I hate it. I don't think I'll try iPhone again. Sticking with the Samsung Note line from here on.

I've never used WhatsApp, personally. But I'm pretty sure Mr. Mobile switched from WhatsApp to a different platform specifically because he couldn't transfer messages between iOS and Android. That said, I'm not 100% positive. I'll have to look it up.
