I own the s22 and I can say that samsung probably thinks their users live in dark places because nearly every mode is brighter than it should but lowering the ISO makes it useable and editing with expert raw too. It's amazing at edge detection but soft in areas, video isnt iphone prores but its better than before. Overall Pixel 6 has more consistency but lack of 4k selfie and 3x telephoto and other features samsung offers which made me choose s22 for an all round camera. The best camera would be the ultra but photgraphy is not my profession so I don't need to pixel peep and blow up images lol. Regardless if you choose pixel or samsung these phones are nearly close to my Fuji cameras. I am stunned by each image.

Dude you have the perfect explanation!!! 100% agree with everything!!! The S22 is the better all rounder and I'm sure Samsung can fix these minor issues with software updates like they have in the past! Also FUJIIIIII! I shoot videos and photos on my Fuji X-T3! Thanks for watching! 😁

I did a Twitter comparison and was pretty shocked that people preferred the S22 photos by a wide margin. All of my photos were indoors though. I'll also add the the shutter lag is pretty bad on the S22.

That's pretty interesting indeed! I actually prefer the Pixel 6 photos much better! They are so close to each other it's honestly a toss up tho! The shutter lag actually hasn't been an issue for me but I don't take pictures of moving subjects so that's why! Thanks for watching Zach! 😁

u can fix it by turning off scene optimizer!! also by not using the MP mode, thats if, u dont want to use it for the detail

Great video. In my country the Pixel 6 is currently retailing for around $630 and S22 is around $980 so I'm leaning towards the Pixel 6 overall.

I was freaking out initially because I used to live in Kingston, and I found it SO ODD that the photos used in your video looked EXACTLY like Kingston. Shortly, I realized that the video was, indeed, shot in Kingston. I used to go to Queen's so this is such a nostalgic feel. Kingston still looks as rundown as ever in certain parts though lol!

Do you have any overheating issues while recording video in 4k60 & also while playing games? I'm currently using P4xl for 1 1/2 yrs. Plan to buy P6 soon. Just a bit concern about that overheating issues from other reviewers.

Yes, the overheating on the Pixel 6 is bad! It's constantly overheats doing nomral tasks but especially for video recording, it won't shoot past 10 minutes before it shuts down! Thanks for watching! 😁

It looks like a 50/50 split between the cameras, some I prefer the Pixel, although I went with the S22 +. I've had Samsungs since swopping over from Nokias, but went with Huawei one year and it was a disaster. Think it's a case of better the devil you know!

Thanks for the nice review! Btw, I heard that the white balance of the Pixel 6 (Pro?) can be adjusted manually for recording video... Is this true and how does this affect the quality? Is it a lot better then without a lot of yellow during low-light video?

yes there's is a white balance slider in video mode on the pixel 6 and pro. it does what it should altho it's a little fiddly. the video footage is generally a little warm in the highs, but this can easily be corrected in for example premiere pro with the highlight colour wheel. after that it looks excellent.

@@hoojamaflicks Thank you for your reply! Btw, do you ever experience heating issues while recording videos with the Pixel 6? It has been the reason why I returned my OnePlus 9 Pro which shut down with a overheating message after 5-10 minutes of video recording...

Yes, all the time with the Pixel 6! It's unusable for video recording btw as you will get an overheating message after 5-10 minutes as well!

I'm kinda mad that Samsung's photos remain so low detail when digitally zoomed in :( but the pixel 6's ultrawide isn't that wide and that's stupid imo, because of course its pictures are sharper when it's less wide, but who zooms in into pictures taken with the ultrawide?

Battery was pretty trash at the start ngl with around 3 hrs SOT... It's been getting better with 4+ hours now! The other S22 phones are way too expensive and I can't afford them haha! Thanks for watching! 😁

@@soobinsii8273 Honestly the Pixel 6 hasn't been great either as I'm getting around 5 hours of SOT! The iPhone 13 Pro in comparison with a much smaller battery easily gets 8-10 hours of SOT!

I have an S22 plus, and I've had a Pixel 6 and an iphone 13 before and you're the first person I've seen that's honest. They only say that samsung is at the height of iphone and it is not true. I agree with everything you say in the review. The detail, the HDR and sometimes the samsung phone has many artifacts. I think the photo is missing a lot to reach the pixel or the iphone. What I don't understand is that if you use the samsung expert raw app, even if it's all auto, you get a raw and a jpg. The jpg from this camera is much more processed and darker, With much more detail than the jpg from the Samsung camera. The problem is that it takes a long time to process a photo. Could it be that they have not been able to remove the processing lag and that is why the Samsung camera processes less and with less detail than other brands? What do you think m8???

Thanks for agreeing with me! I think Samsung needs to push a couple of camera updates to fix some of the issues! The raw mode has insanely big files and it's like 16bit so it would take a long time to process and is not for regular use 😅 I didn't include that in the video because 99% of people aren't going to go out their way to use expert Raw! You DO know this is KZfaq, not Instagram, right? Vertical video is for Instagram. You're the only KZfaqr I've ever seen comparing video from 2 cameras and shooting it vertically. Maybe you don't know any better. But it looks very amateurish when that is done. This video is SO well done, I hate to see that b;under. You're knowledgeable, likeable, confident, good looking - and the sound is crisp (most important thing.) Please turn your phone on the side for video. You'll be glad you did.

The Galaxy S series is built in such a way, as far as the camera is concerned, that psychologically you always want the next model because you hope for minor improvements, i.e. put back 1000 bills every year

I dont think you should be comparing different zoom. Some of your comparisons was 700% zoom on Pixel and 800% on Samsung. The more you do digital zoom the more likely it becomes blurry or has more noise

Why most of the photos on S22, even from the main lens looks distorted? I use an S22 now and I came from a Pixel 3. This really bothers me. This really affects when the faces are distorted in a pic. It looks like a pic from cheap camera. Thinking of going back to Pixel for the camera alone.

Currently have a pixel 3 but plan to upgrade to either the pixel 6 or the S22 or S22+. I would miss the call screening services of pixel but sure seems the S22 (either one) are better than the pixel 6?

I like both phones but this is a tough decision... The Pixel 6/6 Pro has the better cameras for photography, but the S22/S22+ have better hardware in every category... Not to mentions the bugs on the Pixel phones that haven't been fixed yet. It really depends on the pricing in your region and whether or not you can live with ONE UI! I came from a Pixel 2 XL as well! Thanks for watching! 😁

@@Gadgetsu meaning some of same bugs that exist on every android device running Android 12. the reason Sammy and others also had to pause the update for android 12 when released like other oems which is why the roll out has been slow. S22 having it's own issues as well some of the same I seen in the Pixel logs that it's fixing. Not sure why some manufacturers get more attention then others for certain things. Mys21 ultra was experiencing connection issues with calls. It was noted by Samsung as well but most reviewers never mentioned it. Anyway just saying. Good video my guy

@@Sath975 the bugs you heard about or experienced? I have a 6 pro. Had it since launch. You do know the other devices running Android 12 get most of the same but fixes right? Google releases the fixes and update. Sammy and others release the same patch basically for their devices after google makes it available. I assume you knew this already

The iPhone does have the best battery life and video too of that's important to you! If I could only choose one phone, I would choose iPhone even though I'm an Android fanboy 🤣

For vlogging and taking head portions, most KZfaqrs and film makers prefer to shoot 24fps or in this case 30fps because the phones don't have 24. The reason why is because it gives a more natural motion blur to the video which is closer to our eyes! 60fps has a hyper realistic motion speed which many do not like! Thanks for watching! 😁

Pixel 6 best for moving subjects like childs. Thx Google for this magic no Company can match. Rest goes to Samsung. But i must say, i like like Android 12 looks on Pixels. OneUi 4.1 its not bad too. Both better than crappy ios.

The camera performance and processing are crazy close! Exposure and colours are literally the same! Only difference is sharpness and the tint! Thanks for watching James! 😁

I just had a Pixel 6 here for testing and must honestly say that photos aren't really good. The AI is having a hard time determining fore and background when using the portrait mode, the selfi cam is kinda rubbish during low light and takes seconds to take a night time shot. Even my current Huawei P30 takes better shots. If you want a more constistand cam you should go for tha Samsung.

I do agree that Portrait mode and the selfie camera are bad, but for regular day time shots, I think the Pixel is slightly more consistent than the Samsung! The S22 definitely needs a few updates! Thanks for watching! 😁

LOL the potraits on samsung needs some tuning because it looked wahsed out??? Samsung is close to natural than the pixel ever gets. Pixel looked oversharpen(make u look old lol), heavy contrast, and the pictures tend to get a bit dark and brownish. THATS A BIG NO . Plus, bro, you are an asian , yellow skin, not brown colour skin wth????? Samsung definitely did better in potrait mode than the pixel.

I own both. Samsung takes 85 gb of internal memory to run woth its duplicate applications. The pixel only take 42 gb for all it apps. So without doing anything the Samsung has already used one quarter of its memory just for its built in cannot remove apps. Thay is a deal breaker for me now since they removed sd card storage.
