If you just spent top dollar in buying a Galaxy S6 Edge+ this past holiday season, we don’t blame you for being upset. Samsung’s announcement of a Galaxy S7 Edge that looks almost identical to last year’s phablet just leads to a lot of confusion, even though there are some significant differences.
For starters, the company did the smart move of making its Edge variant a tad larger than the regular Galaxy S7, since the curved design feels smaller and lighter in the hand. Regardless of which device you’re holding, it’s hard to deny that both devices are gorgeous at a distance, and feel very premium in the hand. If you’re the type that likes to grab the attention of the public with your device, this is definitely the way to go.

The s6 edge would have been great had it have IP67/68 water resistant and expandable storage for memory. Samsung knew they messed up by not putting this with the 6 and made sure to add it to the 7. I give them credit for listening to their customers. The kept the battery non removable but you can't win with everything.

I'm all about gaming on my device and i went from the s6 edge to the iPhone 6s Plus.... This might be the phone that brings me back . Can't wait to see how it runs games and FPS count with the liquid cooler

+Chester Foster I rarely game on my phone anymore since I got pc but I kinda understand your point. It's just really convenient to grab a device from your pocket and game practically anywhere. Plus with vulkan API, mobile gaming seems to be a little bit more promising in the future.

I have an Edge+, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Waterproofing is not that big of a deal to me, I'll stick with the bigger screen and better camera.

They addressed my 2 gripes from last year they made it thicker for more battery and camera hump reduction. This will be the first Samsung I will actually consider since the Galaxy S Captivate...

it's actually pretty easy to tell them apart if you put the S6 and S7 side by side, the S7 has a bigger front facing camera, and the S7 has a curved back

I love my S6 EDGE+, It's the best phone I've ever been the proud owner of! It's literally the best phone in the world! It survived a soda incident where he spent twenty minutes bathed in soda and being thrown out of a car during a barrel roll! It's amazing! Literally the best phone in the world!

Coming from the Note 5/HTC One M9, I'm definitely going for the S7 Edge. While the curves may not look as attractive as its cousin from last year, it definitely feels way more comfortable. Battery life is looking great and using the camera, I was able to take pictures in cabinets and under tables. The new low light photo taking prowess is definitely as great as they say it to be. It's a great size, feel in hand, and software features that are being expanded on. Sad how 5.5" fits in the same body that the HTC One's 5" is in. Getting matte back protector and a glass front and I'm set. The silver and black are looking amazing.

I don't get this crap about people should get upset becuas the 6 edge plus only came out a few Months ago?? It's still the same great phone you bought. When you bought the damn phone 80 to 90 percent of people plan on keeping it for close to 2 years. If a new phone comes out 6 months or 1 year later who gives a rat's ass. I've been using 6edge plus for almost 3 years. I am not a gadget junkie, so it doesn't really matter for me if my phone is 2 seconds slower than the latest one. Yes people can buy if they can afford, but for some even of they can afford, they choose not too.

+Enemybird There are some differences between the two devices, the s7 is a nicer upgrade over the s6 because of those extra features that are more useful then an ir blaster, I like the ir blaster but I would rather have micro sd expansion and water resistance. I own a s6 edge and the idea of having a more curved body sounds great! Also having the swipe feature along the edge actually being useful is brilliant. The s7 has all the great things the s6 has and then some added useful features and the price (in Canada) is only at a difference of $50 between the galaxy s7 edge and the galaxy s6 edge+

Had a hands on with s7 edge today in the Samsung shops here in the UK. Its pretty good and nice to hold. I have been a note user since note 1 came out. The 5.5 inch is bit small but its ok. I just hope the Battery will live to what samsung has claimed it to be. Pre ordered and cant wait to try the VR :)

let's be honest here, S6 Edge Plus is more sexier than the S7 Edge. But S7 Edge is more about the internal updates, SD Card, Software Update, Liquid Cooling System, and 3,600 Battery.

I like it! I have a Note 4 but am going to give the s7 edge a test run... I recently cracked my screen on the note 4 and I'm on the jump program with Tmobile so I can upgrade 3 times a year... So when the Note 6 come out I'll jump to that one.

With all these features if they solved the ram management issue from last year's flagships and improved battery life (which seems to be the case because the battery is larger), then the exynos version of this will be the one smartphone to rule them all.

+ichdichhasserwasser its a very good phone. love the big screen. dont see anything wrong with it. and the update made it very fast aswell :)

does this mean that the Galaxy note line will be more prominent at launch later this year? that is if it hasn't been killed of, also if they could release a Note 6 in Europe that would be great!

Samsung went with the "if it aint broke, don't fix it" for the design...which I commend them because the S6 design was simply great.

After 7 years of having iphone. I upgraded to the new 7 edge and im loving it however im still struggling with typing and the edge hahahaha i still find myself goin back to my iphone 6 plus and feel more confortable just because im use to it but this samsung deffinetly is worth it

What's the point of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus now? Will we get a bigger Galaxy S7 Edge plus when around the time that the Note line gets a refresh? Help me out here.

I am really hoping that they come out with a plus version huge lover of big phones I been hearing that they will not be dropping a plus version this time around and its probably true no matter how much I don't want to believe it 😓

It looks like the S7 is an improvement on an already good S6. Me personally, I'm typing and viewing this on an iPhone 6 Plus and I would only trade for another iPhone. But Samsung has already outdone what they already outdid. The S7 looks amazing.

since my update my s6 edge + is silky smooth and really fast. Phones really cannot get that much quicker imo

Um, why no mention of the fact that the s7 edge feels considerably better in the hand since its smaller screen and form factor along with round back edges make it way easier to hold and actually has a way smaller footprint that the same sized iPhone 6 Plus and way smaller than the note 5 and 6 edge plus.

camera lens , edges, smaller, no ir blaster. Pretty easy to tell the difference

Spotting the difference between these two phones is like comparing an authentic Louis Vuitton bag with a high grade copy. The difference is so minimal.

I think I'll keep my s6edge plus for a little while...hopefully will get alot of the egde upgrades when Samsung updates to marshmallow. Although I do miss that SD card slot.

I think the features that have been added in S7 should have already been there in S6 when it came out. It's just their way of inducing customers by making so little improvements that are hard to notice. This one won't sell again just wait and see.
