Yeah those Geekbench comparisons are a little off! Here are some upper tier scores I found from Geekbench 5: Tab A8 - 365 / 1290 Fire HD10 Plus - 305 / 1413 The difference won't be noticeable. Different memory speeds will affect performance more in this case.

Keep in mind, the Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus is not running stock Android. It runs Fire OS which is Android 9. No Google Play Store. Tons of ads all over the place including the lock screen. $220 for this is not worth it. The Amazon store has a very limited number of apps, and sideloading apps onto the Fire Tablet doesn't work, a lot of apps are blocked and won't install. I sent mine back and will get the Samsung Tab A8 instead, it may not be as bright as the Fire tablet, but it's a stock clean Android with no annoying ads and you can install anything you want.

You can transform fire hd into clean android though or just remove ads. But yeah, maybe better to get stockish device in the first place.

@@timturner9315 There are KZfaq videos out there explaining how to remove ads for free, remove the OS and create a True Android Tablet and reinstall Amazon products after. I am leary as I do have my Kindle products already on the Fire I just purchased and am not sure if I will lose them since I am turning in my 3rd Gen Kindle Fire for a $10.00 credit and an additional 20% discount from the new Fire Table 10 HD Plus. I paid to have ads unlocked since I did not want to mess with it and wanted to be able to return it if I did not like it and it needs to be in the same condition as I purchased it, so until I decide I need to leave mine as it is. If you have a newer one and change yours, please let us know how it turns out, a lot of people are doing it from what I have read. Best, Lynn

Wow, I did not expect the more affordable Fire HD 10 Plus to have a brighter, better screen than the Tab A8. Guess it shows how Samsung is somewhat lagging behind the competition

Samsung isnt good in Low-Budget market overall. However, they are great in Middle and leading in High-End-Budget.

In store comparison between galaxy tab A and Amazon fire hd+ models here in UK, showed the Samsung display was far superior,and has greater visible area,also the cameras are better on the Tab A ,that said ,eithervwere preferable to the much hyped I-Pad ,which is overpriced ,ovehyped badges bling IMO

@@Tariphilip Gotcha, I am glad for the money I can at least expand up to 1TB on the newest 2021 10HD Plus Tablet. I am trading in a mint condition 3rd Gen, so this is a major upgrade for me lol. Although I love to read I also wanted something that could do more without the cost of a high-end device.

Hd10's os is garbage, but I think it's actually 1980x1200 screen + Tablet lasted over 34 days on standby and still some charge. Good for certain things

Features like the better camera, more open Android store and better speakers make the Galaxy way better in my opinion, while I was watching both on this screen, the image quality at the +1090P on the Fire did not amount to what it should have, and the image still seemed brighter and crisper on the Galaxy. Wireless charging is not a sell for me, you can't really touch them while they charge either way, so what difference does it make if it's plugged in or not? The advantage with the wired charging though, is that you can still pick it up and use it if needed, say to take a call, without disrupting the charging. My takeaway is that the Samsung Galaxy is better on most counts, and effectively better or equal on all. This has been my review of the review.

Comparing the price, amazon throws Samsung out of water. And regarding apps, its a 5 minute craft thing lol and you are connected to google again. I do hope you can remove the ads as well in US with some tricks, since in Canada, its always ad free for us whatsoever. Yeahh I agree on fact that fire have some limitations regarding hardware but it still works and you will be totally fine after 2 days of purchase. Although, I still kinda don't like that LCD screen though, I notice that air gap every single time I touch it 🤡🤡

I'm galaxy all the way, most of the time. But with the prices of the Amazon tablets, now, being able to easily put the Google playstore on it... I went with the Amazon tablet. And I've used both of them. Only thing I'd say is the speakers but I always have headset on

Sorry but your Geekbench comparison is wrong. Geekbench 3 and 5 scores can't be compared. They are very different. "Geekbench 5 scores are calibrated against a baseline score of 1000 (which is the score of an Intel Core i3-8100)." "Geekbench 3 uses a Mac mini (Mid 2011) with an Intel Core i5-2520M @ 2.50 GHz processor as the baseline with a score of 2,500 points."

Which one did you go with?. after seeing a few reviews and a lot of comments sections I decided to go with the A8 and it was definitely worth it. I got the 64 gig only paid $216 for it cuz it was an open box and honestly this tablet is a lot better than what it seems from reviews. very happy with it grate for content. great for gaming as well once I read about not being able to get any app you wanted on the Amazon Fire that was a deal breaker and I know someone's going to say you can easily watch a KZfaq video and hack it jailbreak it or whatever but I don't want to have to go do all that SMH ha I'd rather have a tablet that's already set

@@ajay1888 I actually went off script and purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 with 128 GB. I got mine of 50% on Samsungs website with a student discount. I love it, it is absolutely awesome. I actually bought the Fire and it was impossible to take notes on. I couldn't lay my hand on the screen at all to write and the Fire doesn't have many good apps. I would definitely recommend going with one of the newer Samsungs if you're note taking. But if you want to use it for media consumption the A8 seems great.

Correcto me If im wrong but the Amazon tab is made Just for entretainment right? Its Not good for school or work. Its a tablet especifcally for People Who you ask them Why you want a tBlet and tell you, KZfaq, streaming, surfing the web and checking your MAIL? Wait does the Amazon has Twitter, facebook and instagram or not? Because the gropu Who buy the tablet for fun need social media apps? If not then the Amazon tablet them is a fail. the Samsung on the other hand is more versatile. Its more ideal for fun but can be a good school or work tablet as well.

@Sara Zonana, FB and Twitter are in the AP Store today, but Alexa just stated something unnerving about FB being pulled from the AP store at midnight tonight, so that may be why so many are looking to make their Fire Tablets into Androids and load the PlayStore. I don't know this to be fact, so more information is needed. If this is the case then my search for a case is over and my Fire will be returned and I will be purchasing another device as I will not be pleased with a limitation of apps, nor should I need to resort to a complete manual reconfiguration of my device to get apps installed, I cannot confirm if this is true until I once again reach out to Amazon, if this is the case I will be done with Amazon for non-disclosure. Amended - Per Amazon tech services they are not taking the App out of the app store (as of April 23, 8:00 am)

Fire Tablet sucks, disney plus keeps crashing and google playstore is hard to install on it, (half the apps aren't getting updated and keeps crashing). Amazon store has no apps or games.
