On the outside, they’re pretty much identical and very similar overall. The S8+ does get the latest processor, some camera upgrades, a more responsive SPen & a boost in durability. TAB S8+ S pen latency is 6.x ms probably 6.3 if I remember correctly. It's 2.8 for the ultra variant.

Hey Thao Congrats on the pregnancy. Really appreciate all your updates about a somewhat ignored part of the android market. I'm looking to purchase a Tab S8+ and do a lot of Zoom calls/meetings. Does Zoom on Dex behave like on a PC and if not then does Zoom on Dex support Virtual backgrounds? Would love to hear back from you as this will affect my purchase decision. Also if anyone else reading this knows please do comment and let me know.

She's the only big reviewer I've found that really shows the productivity capabilities of the Galaxy Tab. Everyone else I've seen just glosses over Dex mode but I guess since she actually uses it, she gets into the nitty gritty

Congratulations on the pregnancy!! Thank you for reviewing the Galaxy Tab S8+. Everyone is so hyped about the new ultra model , but I feel that more people would buy the plus model. I currently have an iPad Pro 12.9 but I am in Samsung’s ecosystem and have been looking to switch over. Keep up the great videos!

If you would like to keep your IPad, I think you can still integrate your IPad into your Samsung Ecosystem by using Apps that are available on both IOS and Android. I'm currently using a Samsung A03s Phone, an IPad 9, and Windows Laptop and using Apps that are available on all platforms has been working well for my College Workflow

@@arintayasmin0214 I use Google Photos for my Photo App, Microsoft Word for Documents and Writing Assignments, Microsoft One Drive as Cloud Storage, Google for my Browser, and Google Drive for Cross Platforming Documents and Writing Assignments. I use Google Docs on my Laptop and it's available in the Google browser for IOS and Samsung Devices

Came to this video after watching your helpful S7+ tips video. Was debating between the iPad and the Tab but your videos helped me put aside a lot of worries. Plus I already use their phone and watch and just really wanted some reassurance because I had a less good experience with the Tab A with S Pen in the past. Just ordered the S8+ for exactly the reason you said: it's the perfect middle ground.

I got the S7 and then found your channel and regretted not getting the S7+. After a year of use, I love the S7 and use it a lot more than I thought I would, but that extra size and brightness were missed. I pre-ordered the S8 Ultra because I'm not making the same mistake twice.

Yeah very noticeable on my S7+ and never fixed. Pretty sure it's just panel lottery, been going on since OLED was introduced, and she just got a better screen this time where it's not as noticeable. Wonder why she waited till now to mention it don't recall her mentioning it in original S7+ reviews. Also, got a bit of burn-in on my S7+ after only a year of use wonder if she noticed any on hers?

Oh boy! I’m so excited for my Tab S8+ pink to get here. I’m a middle and I didn’t even put that together. It makes me more confident I made the right decision not to get the giant tab. Thanks Thao!! I am superhype for my Tab S8 Ultra to arrive I was wondering when I would start to see reviews come out from western tech reviewers I've been watching Korean, Vietnamese reviews. I haven't felt this interested in a new tablet since the iPad2. I have an 11" iPad Pro 2018 I guess I didnt get the right size and the keyboard at the time didnt do enough.The Magic keyboard is much better. The iPad just didn't fulfill my expectations of being a laptop replacement for light laptop duties. I am very confident based on watching your TabS7+ reviews and now the Tab S8+, that my 14.6" Ultra will definitely do the job! I heard the keyboard cover is back-lit with a glass covered trackpad!

You had far and away the best content with regard to the Tab S7+, so your opinion about the S8+ means more than any other reviewer. Thanks for explaining the adaptive refresh rate thing. I was going to upgrade because with the amazing trade-in deal it was only $300, but if there's no adaptive refresh rate, then I'm paying $300 for a more responsive pen, a faster processor, and slightly better cameras. Not worth it. Thanks to your video, I canceled my preorder.

Personally I don't think adaptive refresh is really important as all it does is improve battery life which is already great nowadays. Not saying you should upgrade though.

Lovely content. I'm replacing my Ipad Pro 11" with the Tab S8 11" because that's the size that suits my needs, but your take on the S8+ being the best middle ground is a sound one. Keep up the great work!

I had a Samsung tablet about 10 years ago and never really use it, but just pre-order the Tab S8 Ultra. Reason is the screen size is up to the size I like and the functionality and power is getting to the laptop level. It's going to be a great tool in my travel bag I hope.

Great video, I just pre-ordered the Tab S8 and it’s my first Samsung or android tablet. I wish I could afford the Tab S8+ but my budget lol. But I’m looking forward to it arriving and Samsung gave me credit for my dying iPad Air (gets too warm and the battery doesn’t last). I had to make sure but the rep said we will accept as a trade in. The Apple store said sorry but we can recycle it for you, screw you Apple lol. Thank you!

Love your vids! Please do a tab s8 ultra review. The one thing I can take from this review is that if anyone is looking for a great tablet, they should look for a good deal on the s7+. I run the s7+ since it was released and seeing the s8+, I got to say that for 98% of people it is exactly the same product.

About the S pen I use an iPad but I think it applies to both, I think way more people will get a use out of the stylus than they think. I got it primarily for art, but I’ve been taking WAY more notes at work or school too now. Cause with paper it was always annoying having to sketch graphs they show or stuff like that while on the laptop, it wasn’t as easy to just note something real quick. I feel like a stylus on a tablet gives you the best of both worlds in that regard

Hi Thao. Great review as usual. I love multitasking. To me, that is why I have a tablet. Based on your multitasking video between S7+ and Ipad pro, you gave the edge to the Ipad pro ( by the way it was an amazing useful review). With the new tab S 8 + / ultra and the new software, what is your thought? especially with productivity work using words, PowerPoint, chrome. Which one do you think is better especially now with the sidecar of the apple system where you can use your Ipad as a second screen?

I paid like $520 for my s7+ 128gb and Samsung offered a trade in for $600, I'm getting the s8+ 256gb and bundle with the 512gb S22U for a total of $1150. With that kind of deal it was a no brainer for me.

i did the same thing! going from a tab s6 and a note 10 plus. im kinda glad they pushed the tab s8 back cause it got the 8 gen 1 chip instead of the 888 plus chip, plus it gave me time to save up money:)

Same, in fact I bought an IPad 9 because I couldn't afford even the Tab S7 FE and the Tab S6 Lite seemed underpowered in terms of being future proofed. I hope the Tab S8 Lite/FE will be more affordable and a better competitor to the IPad 9

Important thing: With android 13, true virtualization will be introduced, meaning that you can literally run FULL Windows 10/11 on the Tab S7 and S8. To be fair, it IS the ARM-Version, but today, it can emulate x64, so in one year, you can actually use real windows on there

how does that work though? will microsoft have a specific version of win10/11 for android? But I think that's a disadvantage to microsoft surface pro devices, because currently no matter how great a tablet is, it can't run a specialized desktop/laptop app such as excel, photoshop, etc.

@@HevaNaisdey They don't have to, you can just get a copy of windows arm and put it into whatever process there will be on android 13 to run it under a compatibility layer. You don't require any help by microsoft, and actually, microsoft definitely won't help since then, the sales of their Surface Tablets will be damaged strongly, because the only thing making these better than the galaxy tablets is the fact that they run windows

Windows on tablets is horrible,of course you have the professional level programs but most of them don't have a touch friendly interface,the battery life on the surface is pathetic,the x86 intel chips besides not being good in energy efficiency also can't keep the performance because they get too hot and thermal throttling occurs,few programs have support for the arm architecture and microsoft's emulation doesn't even come close to apple rosetta,I saw a review of surface X with arm chip running photoshop by x86 emulation and the performance was terrible.

Love that the S8+ is a great buy but I'm sticking with my S7+ for now. I kind of want the Ultra for the reason that it just is so big and pretty but I'm also finding my Tab S7+ just big enough that bigger seems too much 🤣 Overall great review, thank you! I do not accept the stupid notch... besides, the slimmer bezels are bad for tablet use.

Me too!! Happy with my seven plus but I can certainly wait. The ultra looks so good but I think I want the laptop 360 pro at that point!

The Ultra is too big and heavy for it’s purpose. If I need that kinda screen, I’d bring my laptop

I think the tab S7 line is better for a lot of reasons. You got a capacitive fingerprint sensor instead of optical, the 865 chip doesn't run nearly as hot, And they have the adaptive refresh rate.

I want the better latency with pen. I legit just want to notetake but the other cheaper models I'm not a fan of. Had a surface go 2 and it was slow when I used one note over time

@@smaao I have seen reviews suggesting there is no difference in real life with respect to latency for writing, but if you are a digital artist you may be more susceptible to that lower latency. I cannot draw to save my life (sadly) so that is not useful for me.

The Tab S7+ does not have adaptive refresh either, just 60 or 120Hz. Samsung is still years behind with adaptive refresh compared to Apple that patented it around five years ago!

@@andyH_England oh really? I can't draw also I just want it for note taking and the usual media. Reason I don't want a budget tabley is because I tend to leave tabs up or like to cross reference via one screen so I still need that oomph in processing power and capability. If its not really noticeable then I'll look for a s7 plus, thank you

@@andyH_England adaptive refresh rate on IPS display is there on tab s7 and tab s8 but i think its difficult to implement on amoleds as it came later on amoled phones compared to IPS phones
