Galaxy Z Fold 5 In Water Then Foreced to Teardown

Are Foldables Good in Water testing with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5?
This device is supposed to be IPx8 which it is, but that is a very different rating compared to the IP68. The iPx8 does not have water resistance.

Mine did that brand new out the box. I had to send mine back and samsung simply replaced it with a new one

My fold 5 got submerged for less than a second and immediately I started having dead pixels in the inner screen. It started with a small line and eventually evolved to a large black circle. I ended up replacing the phone. So from my experience, the fold 5 aren't water resistant at all.

Its gotta be software. My fold 3 inner screens stopped working right after an update. Luckily I was working a lot to not care as much immediately. About 2 weeks later another update happened, i assumed to fix, & it did.

My first fold 3 got wet and this happen. Found out these phones can't get wet.

I bought the Oneplus 12 over the Fold 5 because I can't any KZfaqr talk about how much it will cost to replace the inside screen. I don't have $300 lying around for insurance either. Don't want to buy the Fold 5 and later have to pay over $300 just to fix the inside screen. My first Android phone is the Oneplus 12. I'm a iphone fan boy since the iphone 3.

$170 for Samsung care. Lifetime unlimited repairs for anything. $60 to replace Zfold screen.

@renatoreyes6583 I know you have 60 days when you first get any samsung phone to purchase samsung care. Maybe contact samsung directly and ask about if you bought it off someone.
