Just finished QAF all five seasons, first time seen. I'm 25 years late! Loved it. I think Brian's and Justin's characters were the most fully developed of all the characters, and underwent the biggest changes.

What he says is really interesting. I particularly love when he explained how he felt about shooting the first sex scene with Randy. Because it really was a challenge and it made him grow as an actor. To be able to push these boundaries was a bid deal. It also shows how professional he is. Gale really seems to be a great guy, as well as a great actor :)

I think what makes Gale Harold hot is that besides having the requisite good-looks and nice body, he's thoughtful, articulate, and a serious actor.

He's a wonderful actor but I didn't find him especially hot...until years later, when he grew a beard. He looks like Mark Ruffalo.

@@caseypride Gale & Mark do look similar. However, Gale Harold is 6'2" and Mark Ruffalo is 5'8", if that makes any difference. They are now 51 and 52, respectively. From recent photos, I'd say Gale has aged a little better. Mark has been married for 20 years. Gale is single and his sexuality private. I don't actually follow celebrities, but I had to google anyway to compare photos.

I think he's a good actor and i think he excels when he has to bring some kind of intensity to the character. When you look at what he has done in these years, there is a lack of that and i believe he needs the challenge to work at his best. Even in Qaf, his best moments were when he was in some kind of emotional struggle, i think about the scene at the hospital covered in blood after justin's prom or almost every scene with his mother and of course every scene in which is naked (wink). Even in the secret circle (which was terrible) he somehow manage to do a great job especially when he had to look evil and if i had to pick the single best scene of the entire season i would choose the one in which he appear for the first time where he doesn't speak at all, he doesn't need to, you know who the character is just watching the way he moves.

So many interviewers, are so fixated on the whole gay thing, "...gee, what's it like being straight and having to do a sex scene with another man...?" it's all so prurient and puerile. Nobody ever asks the known homosexual actors and actresses, "Gee, what's it like being a lesbian and having to play a sex scene with a man?..." These people ar professional actors & actresses, that's what they do: play something other than what they are in real life. P.S. I love this guy - he's great!

Nobody asks the straight actors how it is to do a sex scene with someone of the opposite sex either. I mean just because it's your preferred sex doesn't make it any less awkward or hard to perform, imo.

Kysfallen I agree. I couldn't imagine doing a sex scene with anyone in front of a camera. I would be too uncomfortable, but then I'm not an actor. Personally, I think it might even be easier doing it with the sex that doesn't interest you, you could abstract it more.

+Jane Kensey Exactly. In the context, "you think you know, but you don't know" was important to say. The final "you know" was just a nervous tick that in no way detracts from what he's saying, if you're focused on the content and not just looking for opportunities to be snarky.
