The reason Crazy Horse leather feels so soft is because it undergoes a buffing process (the surface of full grain leather is lightly sanded down give it that smooth velvet feel) after which they treat it with oils and waxes. That is why it shows the distressed look compared with the untreated leather that Galen also sells. I bought their untreated leather slip n zip (4 pen) case, because the integrity of the leather is better maintained and it is full grain leather unlike Crazy Horse which has lost its top surface layer due to sanding.

Before purchasing any item from Galen Leather please make sure you are aware of the shipping costs. Despite my invoice including the cost of shipping, the delivery company UPS requested a further £30 English pounds before I was allowed my parcel. Make sure you make enquiries before purchasing! I was advised by Yusuf that this is mentioned on their website. Clearly I had missed that section. I advise you to be careful. The product I purchased is lovely. It is a shame that it has been ruined for me paying a lot more money than expected. I will make it my mission to ensure that everyone is aware on all social platforms. I know I can’t be the first to suffer from this!
