The night before class, someone on IG DM'd me from Stockholm recommending this song! I hopped in the studio really quickly because it was just too good of a song to pass up.
This is an all-levels routine that I taught for this Beginner Class at my "NIGHT OF DANCE" event where I teach 4 classes back to back. The song was perfect for a routine that anyone could personalize and interpret in their own way.
We did a showcase at the end as well!

The expressions from the soloist make his performance so much more interesting, they were all great dancers but I was absolutely captivated by the raw emotion he put into it. I feel like it takes something special to immerse yourself that far into a performance and not worry about looking weird or unattractive while doing it because it makes it seem more authentic? I don’t know, I’m not a dancer, but I thought it was great! Props to all the dancers and the choreographer, well done!

I know everyone is commenting on the male dancer, but I'm just mesmerized by the woman in black. Her movements are just so sharp, and her facial expressions are insane evocative- this is the best choreo I've seen in ages. (To clarify, the woman is Galen Hooks herself and I then went down a very steep rabbit hole of Galen's work- the woman is incredible! Also also, this doesn't detract from the fact Mike is also phenomenal)

Interpretation is everything. I feel like the women were like “look out. We’re sexy, but get too close and we’ll be deadly for you.” But the dude was just like straight up mental (in the most amazing way possible). LOL. I love both interpretations. The trio has these vibes of snakes or spiders being both beautiful and dangerous, performing a dance. The guy had a vibe of a rabid wolf, being menacing and threatening, less like a planned lure, and more like animalistic impulses. Each performance is amazing in its own way.

The heels make the pivots and transitions while they are crouching easier on ur calfs and smoother in execution. Though I'm chubby and short so that may be why I find it better in heels. They are so amazing!

I like all the dancers' interpretations! I like how the guy went batshit crazy, but Galen's interpretation is also very cool, with the amazing moves but keeping a disinterested expression anyway. I think it very much matches Billie's expression in her music video. Incredible in every way!

I’m the girl sitting down in the back wearing a bucket hat. First of all, this is my first KZfaq comment in years. The energy and enthusiasm in this room was insane. The second guy is from Romania, and he said he waited 3 years to attend Galen Hooks’ class. We all learned this choreo for an hour and how he absorbed all this is just beyond me. Also, I just really wanna recommend everyone to take a dance class if you can. I’m just a normal person who doesn’t have impressive dancing skills. I took this beginner class to challenge myself and I walked away with a courage to push myself to my limits. Everything about this class was amazing and uplifting!! Thank you Galen’s team for a great class! & thanks for reading my long ass comment xo

I liked the girls verson better both technically and visually. The guys interpretation was a cool spin but didnt fit the music and his moves were i feel more messy? Compared to the wonans. Woman's had the difficulty of needing to stay in sync too where the guy didnt have to.

It's not the best. There's many different choreography styles of this song and this style is far from perfect. Yes the choreography was well put together and it matches the tone and mood of the song, but that doesn't mean that the choreography is the best.

I think about Mike's performance here regularly. It was so good. The art of dance is truly under appreciated. I'm disabled and can't move even 1/100th as gracefully as yall can, but boy do I appreciate watching you guys move. I don't mention that because I wish I could--I just enjoy it despite not being a dancer at all.
