Oh and speaking of which, there's another DDR marching song about a girl as well. Somewhere, out there in the vastness of the internet there's a song known as "Angelika." The only inkling of evidence I have for the existence of the song is from this auction page for a songbook of the Grenztruppen. www.booklooker.de/B%C3%BCcher/Liederheft-der-Offiziershochschule-der-Grenztruppen-Rosa-Luxemburg/id/A02kgk3S01ZZs The auctioner has pictures of the songs contained in the pages one of which is "Grün ist meine Waffenfarbe" and "Monika" so some of the songs listed here have been uploaded by other people. I've found nothing else about that song in particular, but seeing as Lenin502 is a master at uploading rare songs I'll wager he might be able to find it and finally enable it to be heard.

I think the solider is supposed to be soviet too. The Erich Weinert Ensemble did a lot of german covers of soviet songs.
