In Today's Suburban Homestead we'll be setting up some galvanized raised garden bed we bought from amazon.
First thing was to align the predrilled holes on the corner brackets with the edges.
During the first pass we just hand tightened all the nuts and bolts.
There are a lot of them so just keep at it and be patient.
Once the garden bed was assembled, we moved it to the spot it would sit.
Because there's so much Bermuda grass, I used an electric tiller to grind them to pulp.
I prepped the bottom layer with random compost that we've been collecting for a few months.
This compost will hopefully feed the bed with rich nutrients for at least one season.
We then threw some store-bought garden soil on top.
Then I spread it all out with a rake.
Have you ever done a ton of work just start all over again?
Well, that's what we did.
We moved everything over to the front yard.
Garlic is so fun to plant; you can harvest what you want and leave a few cloves for the next season.
An infinite supply
Garlic also has a ton of health benefits.

These will definitely be one of our staple crops we grow every year.
Just stick one of the cloves into the soil and water them daily.
Make sure the soil you use has plenty of drainage though, they hate being waterlogged.
BTW, I've been using these beds for almost a year now, and I've got to say they still look great.
These were also half the price of Vegro bins.
I would recommend purchasing them on Amazon, but it appears they don't sell them at this size anymore.
But they do have the small beds available.
Just be aware that they're pretty tall so it takes a lot of soil to fill them up.
But overall, I would recommend buying these.
I actually loved them so much I got 4 more of them.
You can say I'm a little obsessed.

Great Idea! I did something similar with galvanized sheet metal flashing in 20" x 50' rolls. you can make 5 beds that are 37.5" diameter and 20" high. Just cut the 50" roll into 10' sections and clamp the ends together to creat 1' of overlap, drill holes and pop rivet this round bed together. Drill from the inside. start right below your top clamp. insert a pop rivet before you drill the next hole. A galvanized steel bed will be stiff enough to stand without any aditional support. It's no different than a flat sheet metal swimming pool. the weight of the soil will stiffen the walls. you can also bend 1" of the top edge over to the inside of the bed every couple of inches all the way around to create a safe and comfortable ledge whch also stiffens the the wall.

That sounds like a good hack to this bed. We've been using these for a few years now, and it still looks the same as the day we bought them.
