I need to Thank you! I had a lone Gamble’s Quail Chick stuck in my flaming hot garage with no Quail around. I played your video countless times over, over and over. It helped me locate her and she’d sing back when I paused the video. It took me 2 hours, but she finally scurried out. So while it’s a beautiful video, it helped save a baby lost one. Just thought you should know. Thank you!!!

My friend gave me some eggs a few months ago I put them in the incubator and they hatched but some of them didn't. I have california valley quail. They grew up very fast. And now they are laying eggs. I'm very happy with my quails. I love birds. Thank you for uploading :)

I sincerely hope this water hole has fresh water often, perhaps on a daily basis. I would even set out a wild seed feeder and throw out some grit rocks for the quail. They need it to grind the seed. Another generation.

We've been here 20 years. We are part of the ABQ Backyard Wildlife Program and have 3 water sources, native plants, trees, and since the drought I have been supplementing the feed. The ABQ program has about 200 people and 75 properties along the Middle Rio Grande on the Rocky Mountain Migration Flyway. We are making sure there will be food for migrating birds and wildlife. Had a water dish like that in Tucson. Sadly, when those chicks are smaller they could drown in 3 inches of water. I kept river rock in the bottom so they could walk in it.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. The recommended depth of water is no more than 1 inch for the little ones. Water raises the survival rate of quail chicks by as much as 90%.
