While playing through this game, childhood memories returned as it has always been one of my favorite Game Boy titles (by the way: with great music!). "Ninja Gaiden Shadow" (in Europe "Shadow Warriors") was first thought to be a porting of "Shadow of the Ninja" for the NES. Tecmo received the rights from Natsume and supplemented the game with the typical characters of the Ninja-Gaiden-series: The bad guy Garuda haunts the people in New York City and only 16-year-old Ninja Ryu Hayabusa can stop him.
Some words about my playing: I think this is the easiest "Ninja Gaiden" game and you can beat it without losing a life point. Although I didn't made a perfect run, I hope you'll like it anyway. -

One of my favorites, it was small game but challenging and fun. Really neat enemies and bosses.

My first game on the GB after Tetris. It is my childhood! And I still think this is the best game in it's genre followed by Batman. THX for the play through!

This game, super Marios and warrio land is the best, what's even better is all the secret spots in these game, like playing Pokémon and finding secret item in trees or empty space that looks odd.

I recog this one as a very frustrating game in some parts. I was 6-7 years old. Not on par with r-type as for frustration btw

This would have been SO much better had they left Ninja Gaiden out of it and just released it as Shadow of the Ninja like Natsume planned to... but hey, it's still pretty okay.

Mostly, but the main thing the game misses is it's not exactly Shadow of the Ninja nor Ninja Gaiden... just a kinda weird hybrid. It works as a game, but as a fan of both those series it just never did it for me.

it is the emulator fault, not the rom itself But yes, sounds are much better on the game boy in this case

Alessandro Sansone something called emulators. They allow you to play any game by downloading a rom this is a gameboy emulator. There’s also for gba n64 gamecube wii PS PSP PS2 and many more. There’s nothing wrong with emulation while the game no longer sells.

You're right. The musics here are pretty awful, that's what happen when you play an emulated game. Many things are different. You don't play the real game. I tried this game on my GBA just now, and yes, the musics sound far better (and different) with a real cartridge.
