If your water starts to flow you need to replace the water, trapdoors, and the lever and don't make your hopper stream until it's duping for more consistency. Or this at least works in my case.

@@wolfydudegaming5924 the first noise triggers the tripmine to go up simultaneously. the second noise triggers the tripmine to go down simultaneously. i think this is what he meant. press the level exactly when you see the tripmine go down

If they don't say anything or just minecraft, it's literally about Java. If it's in bedrock, they will put bedrock in it.

a much easier way I just found out is that you can place the string and then straight away flip the lever. this will duplicate 1 string at a time, but if it is too hard for you the other way, try this way.

Yeah, I have the same issue in Java 1.20.1. I'm using shears and facing the right direction. Are you using Forge by chance? I saw somewhere that Forge may affect it, though I don't know if that's true.

you're probably using forge! i had the exact same issue using forge, loaded the world without forge and it worked perfectly well

I'm pretty sure you built it facing the wrong direction. I also had this problem but when I made the water flow south it fixed it.

some servers use paper mc as their software. So there are other complex string dupers which are less efficient.

Unfortunately it doesn't work with forge, but if you make it in normal Minecraft then load te world in forge it works.

no offense but i dont really know how youd expect it to work on servers when its a literal duplication glitch ... no server owner would let anyone produce 1m+ string an hour for a build that takes 5 mins to do after starting

@@TDRpasta The person didn't state, but maybe it is their server. I have a server and I self-allow these builds because I am the one controlling them. But yes. Maybe being on a server belonging to someone else would be an issue...

The server may have some restrictions over duping. As you know, duping is a huge glitch which most servers are likely to prevent.

It does work, but it works with the official 1.20 launcher. I tried it on Forge and it didn't work, but once I tried it on the official 1.20 installation, it worked just fine on the first try.
