It finally clicked for me why Tifa said "huh" when Cloud said "it's been five years". In her mind, the last time she saw Cloud was when they were at Nibelhiem as kids. In Crisis Core, Cloud went with Zack and Sephiroth but didn't remove his helmet because he was too embarrassed to let Tifa see him just be a regular grunt after making claims that he'll get into SOLDIER after leaving the village.

The voice actors did SUCH a great job with the remake. Tifa's VA did an especially wonderful job; her voice is just so kind and calm yet still strong.

Max, if second-hand nostalgia is a thing, watching your playthrough of this is doing it to me. Despite never having played the game myself, your passion for this game and its world makes this some of the most enjoyable content of yours I've ever watched, and I can't say I've seen anything bad from you yet as it is. Looking forward to the rest of the playthrough dood!

The game legit feels so alive, so many NPC's, everytime you get near them they either start talking to you or to each other, I spent so much time just listening to their dialogue...it's truly a masterpiece.

I think Max is THE guy if you want to watch a playthrough of FF7 Remake. I've heard a lot of complaints about how this game isn't a carbon copy of the original game and frankly I think those people completely missed the point of the remake. Max has a lot of emotions invested into this franchise and it shows. I teared up when you finally get to see the scale this world truly is by just looking at the upper plates from the sector 7 slums as Max is slumped in his chair literally speechless by the sheer beauty of the game. Also, Max isn't playing through this game through nostalgia glasses (as most people are), or through cultural osmosis FF7 had in the past 20+ years. He's BEEN playing FF7 original for years and there are the small subtleties only someone like Max can pick up, and it's great to see a streamer (and his viewers) pick up a lot of those small details. As Max has said since showing us the FF7 Remake demo "Look 👏 at 👏this 👏fucking👏video 👏game👏."

This game is what happens when you get a bunch of developers together who are all fans and are like "if we're gonna do this, We're GONNA DO THIS RIGHT!!!"

For my birthday, my boyfriend got me the PS4 just for the Remake even though it was pretty much tight financially speaking. I cried so much. I was just like you through my first run. He was so in awe at my reactions that he played it himself and then played the original game hahahaha. Man ! The feels ! it's a joy to watch you.

This game to me... This was the second game ever to get me to get me emotionally invested in the story and characters of any video game. This was the third game that got me to sneak up late at night to play it, putting me at risk of getting in a lot of trouble. This was the game that convinced me to play any other Final Fantasy games. So yeah, Max. I get ya~

I've never experienced anything like this. I'm playing, smiling from ear to ear, choking back tears, failing & blubbering at random parts all while having a blast. Really takes the edge off of being Furloughed for you know what. VII is mine & my older brother's favorite game. We've been waiting for this remake since the PS3 Tech Demo. It's finally here but my brother's not. Suicide back in 2013. I've never been so happy & sad at the same time; it's honestly fucking me up. It's killing me that I can't talk to him about THIS game, THE game we've talked about with sutch hope, optimism & even fear. The game that we only needed to refer to as "Remake" to know exactly what the other was talking about. I love this game. I love it so much. I hope to God they stick the landing & wrap it all up within 5 years.

I come back to this walkthrough sometimes when I’m feeling down to relive these moments and feelings I had when I played. It cheers me up and takes my mind of all of life’s stresses. I can relate with this dudes feelings towards this game a lot. Thank you 🖤.

After having had finished the game now, playing all by myself at home (like many others I'm sure). It's so wonderful to go back and watch someone have the same general reactions, stopping and listening to bystanders, looking around at background graphics that are just mind blowing spectacular and hearing you say "THIS IS A VIDEO GAME!!" and the music , man oh man the music. There will be more tears to shed in this incredible journey and its wonderful to watch you and feel like I'm playing a game with a good friend and sharing the experience. Shine on

I ran into the Johnny quest in the middle of looking for the kids from the school. It was hilarious when Tifa was all creeped out by the look in Clouds eye, then jumps right into “let’s go find the rest of the children”

When it comes to FFVII, Max is my spirit animal. I’ve been trying to get through the game quickly (not rushing, just diligently) so I can do things like watch Max’s play through. It’s a way to share the experience since all my friends from the original release era are from 20-some years ago and a million miles away. I was in tears when I arrived to the slum as well. The music is what got me and hearing Barret interact with his daughter.. My brother was saying "Man you weren't kidding when you said this is the greatest game of all time." To be a true gamer is to appreciate the journey in every game good or bad, but man this broke me down... This revived that innocent boy inside me again... Fuck man I'm tearing up again...

God I love this game. I love Tifa's voice, it's great. I love Cloud's voice too. A lot of the voices are just what I expected them to be, and the others blew my expectations out of the water.

These are moments that are magical...”the first time” is something that never gets to be relived ever again. And my first play through was also awe aspiring. I’m so glad we finally get to play this masterpiece and extremely excited for the rest of the games to come out!

Tifa's VA is easily the best actor/actress in the game. She shows both vulnerability, strength, doubt, and determination all in one. She seems like a real person and a great friend.

This is one of my favorite videos. I absolutely love watching people reacting to things that they enjoy and love. It is impossible to watch this and not have a genuine smile and feel of happiness. It really goes a long way to make me feel better about how things are going with myself. That allows me to forget for a little while, and relive those happy moments. Thanks Max :)

I loved it so much when Cloud pulled out his sword in the doorway and hit it on the top of the frame because, i thought he was just going to have the usual ungodly spacial awareness and find a way to somehow get his massive sword in front of himsef without touching the frame first try, despite being confused and a little groggy but he didn't, and that little thing of all the details was one of the things that made Cloud feel the most human to me. Shows how much the little things matter.

Man when he left the apartment and the music hit at the perfect moment.... This game man. Perfect.

"FRIENDS Slain This Month" Max, don't feel bad, I literally read it as that and went "oh, well that's a good si-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..."

That was my exact feeling when I started the game. "This game is too much..." Hearing the updated songs would make me tear up so hard, it brought me right back to 97. The songs would sometimes remind me exactly how I felt when I first experienced the story the first time. It rained a lot when I got the game so I can feel the wind coming through my window, sometimes I had to hike home (15km away from town) and I'd be hiking home in the rain, I remember getting home soaking wet and firing the game up and that eerie music would kick in when I reached Kalm. I still remember curling up in a blanket after being the rain for hours trying to get home. I used to go out to see my friends every single day and be with them all day every weekend. But this game sucked me in from end of Sept to around March or April. All I did was play this game in my free time after highschool. I wanted to tell my friends what they were missing out on, but no one loved RPG's. On my 3rd play through I showed my best friend the ending. I was like holy shit....... you gotta see how ape shit Omnislash is. lol. My friend was drunk out of his mind and it blew him away. I lent it to him and I didn't see my game for 9 months while he obsessed over it. lol. I sold him the game (bought my own again), and that game outlasted my second copy as I ended up buying it back 3 years later and my friend regretted it, so one more play through and he bought it back for twice the price. haha. I can't wait to show him this game, he has no idea it was being remade as he doesn't game anymore, but I think he'll be addicted to FFVII once again. At first I wanted ATB turn based, but I'm more than happy with what hey did, especially with the materia and perks that makes the combat a bit more fluid. It gets even more fun when you got a full party. If you didn't play this game back in 97, I don't think they get why this Remake such a big deal. I'm not a gamer who remembers games differently, I remember them exactly how they were. It's so strange to come leaps and bounds over the OG and even over the original tech demo that started the hype train. The game probably does look a lot better than advent children too at this point. Sounds unbelievable, music and voice acting. The NPC's were mind blowing too, a lot of the NPC acting is beyond what some devs hope to get on their main characters. I used to talk to every single NPC after every single "Event" (something that triggers new conversations in the OG game) just to uncover more about themselves the world or the story. I find myself listening to alllllllll the NPC's in this game too. I'm just honestly afraid to finish this game and I hope Square is smart enough to put every single staff member on FFVII until they finish all of the episodes.

I don’t know if Max noticed this, but the Loveless Poster has the date 6/25...that was the official Windows release date of the original Final Fantasy VII. Another Easter egg that was cute.
