NOTES: - VPNs are allowed in the game as long as you don't use any cheats or plug-ins. (according to my NE contact) - You can test your ping before entering a match using the Network Diagnose tool in the settings. - The numbers in the Network Diagnose tool represent the following: * Latency caused by Server: The connection speed between you and the server. VPNs may help improve this. * Latency caused by Local Broadband: The ping between you and your internet company. This cannot be changed. * Latency caused by Router: The connection between you and your WiFi router. This can be improved by moving the router and other changes. * WiFi sharing device: The number of devices connected to your network. (Less devices could slightly improve ping.) If you live near Europe and are playing on the NA/EU server, you can use a VPN to improve your ping. However, only turn on the VPN inside of a match if your ping isn't above 110ms. This is because if all players in the match are European, you may get green ping even without the VPN.

Yesterday I was playing agaist sculptor with S tier skin for the 1st time and I could tell when she was going my side bcs ping want from 170 to 560+ and 1000+ when she used her statues. I never had any problems with game running bcs I have gaming phone and yet this thing make me teleport around in chase (it was rank match

There are issues with the optimization of the game, some skins do sorta overload the system from what I can tell 🤔 they do fix them from time to time but sadly not much we can do about that 🤣

Dang, i tought it was just me. its been an issue for long time ago, that axe boy skin is also work the same as this (its fixed) but if a new S skin with a lot of effect comes out then it will be another problem

That's why i hate encountering sculptures. Their skins and accessory effects really glitch my potato phone and i can't even kite them for like 10 sec TwT

about vpn, I heavilly recommend proton because its free and I literally just tested it rn, Without it I got 182ms + 50 latency on average, with it I got 150ms + 50 latency which doesnt sound like much of a change, but this was maximum and sometimes it red 100ms + 8 latency and once even 0 everything, btw my maximum without vpn was 200ms + 100 latency this was done with the network diagnosis setting, usually the in game ping is a little higher in my experience. also just if you are wondering proton allows you to connect only to the usa, netherlands, and I think japan in the free version, so of course if you are in NA/EU connect to usa

i share wifi w my family (3 other people) and the wifi router is all the way in the living room, it does not reach my room well so I have to play next to the router. but even when I'm right next to the router the ping still shows up red and if lucky in the middle. i have to switch mid games between my data and wifi bc my ping starts lagging

TY! Though I think other people don't really impact other players in terms of gameplay, cuz all the network entities are on the server and the server just waits for commands from the clients. If a low-end device struggles to send a command, then the server doesn't do anything = the player character is afk. From the other hand, if 3 players are from EU and 1 player is from China, then gg.. idv will chose some really distant server for the EU players resulting in a bad ping:(

That is an issue that exists in a lot of countries. As long as your connection is 10mbs download and 5-10mbs upload speed then that is enough!

my internet and my device is so good but i still got high ping so i use pingbooster it help alot but i had to pay for it but i dont have any money left so is there any free way to get good ping??

In my case, I usually test my network in-game and I find out that my ping is fine (it's like only 5ms) but the problem is the server which takes me about 120 and above ping. Btw, I'm playing in my pc.

Im new to Idv but the first thing i have realized was that the servers were actual dog water as i hope whenever i go to play a match i hope i get into a server near me since it increases by 70+ sometimes. (I usually have 90 ping)

Besides some problems, normally my ping would be 150ms, but these days it's getting worse no matter what I do.😭 Also it shows 252 in device sharing, is it the airplane mode? I heard it could help with network but I'm not sure lmao

Unsure if Airplane mode would help. I vaguely remember Netease announcing plans to release a mix between data & WiFi multi connect option. Airplane mode would stop that feature from working if it is implemented. I can't help much with that idea, but I hope that helps.

blackphoenix or any1 plz answer my question bro by commenting i m from India my avg server ping is 148-250 in asia server I m thinking of upgrading my broadplan of 30 Mbps to 100 Mbps and take a gaming router asus rog rapture gt-ax11000 which boosts 100 mbps speed to 500-600 mbps.will that reduce my server ping or not from 148 ms to 80 ms and not spike?

Hey TimePass! - Quick Answer: No, it probably won't affect your ping much. - Long Answer: Any connection speed above 20Mbps is more than sufficient to play online games, what does matter is your ping to your router (not in game), use a tool like Speedtest.net to see your ping on your device. If your ping on that test is around 5, then getting a new router won't really matter much. UNLESS: There are a ton of people on your Wi-Fi and your connection is congested or your connection continuously drops (you can test this last one with an Internet Connection Stability Test). If there are lots of people on your Wi-Fi and are hogging your internet that can affect your speed and getting a router where you can set the traffic priority to favour gaming can be of help but might not change as much as you think. The most probable reason as to why your ping is "bad" is because you are living far away from Netease's server, your data has to travel a long distance to get the Asia server, so unless you move house... Hope that helps though! I am not an expert here, but I gave you an overview of what can help.

If you are in Europe and you are playing with American players (as of right now) then sadly 120 or 110 is as low as it can get really! Your data has to travel under the ocean to get to the US and back, sadly you can't change how fast physics work!

I'm making a comment because I'm having a ping lag problem, I play from a PC, my configuration and the Internet are the same as they have been for months, my computer more than meets the recommended requirements and I play from Latin America, but for about In a month the vast majority of my matches had a change in Ping that may be little but it can be noticed, I went from having 156ms to being almost 189ms-190ms (If I play as a survivor my ping for some reason is 177ms-178ms ) and sometimes sudden increases in ping that then decrease, other games if I am connected in America the maximum I get is 140-150ms totally stable. Do you have any information on whether the game changed location on its NA/EU server or what might be causing this abrupt change? I already have in mind when I can use a paid VPN for testing, because I can't play comfortably as a hunter.

I reinstalled it a couple days ago and It’s really confusing. In other games such as league or genshin impact I average 60-70ms but here I don’t get anything better than 130, and that’s if I’m lucky. If i’m paired with NA players (4/5 matches) I average 230ms and the game is practically unplayable for me.

@@BBlackPhoenix I still think it would be better to at least open a new EU server (in addition to NA/EU and SEA currently) and give players the option of playing there ONLY IF THEY WISH TO (even if they have to start with a new account if NetEase doesn't want to bother themselves with extra code to transfer your account accross a server). This way, if waiting times with half the players are really that bad, then everyone would switch back to NA server anyway. But if they don't and the waiting times are actually only slightly longer, the improved ping will be greatly beneficial to the players' performance. In addition to that, as it is, the EU server feels useless. What are the chances that all 5 players will be in Europe anyway? If half of the players in the server are from Europe, then the probability of all 5 players being from Europe is (1/2)^5=1/32. That's... As good as zero.
