This video also includes the Prologue "chapter" so it's more like one and a half chapters, hopefully the others won't be this long but WHO KNOWS this game gets pretty wild later

9:26 What's funny is, that's kind of the joke behind Gundham's name. His Japanese given name (眼蛇夢 gandamu) is comprised of the kanji for 'eyeball', 'snake', and 'dream', so it comes across as mystical and rare. However, his last name, Tanaka, is among the most common Japanese surnames. It'd be like meeting the equivalent of someone named "Mephistopheles Jones".

@@BlueButterFlyXOXO Since she's the protagonist, I'm pretty sure Arin will voice her, and then Dan will voice Shuichi since he's the other other person in that first room. Though it'll be interesting to see a playthrough where Dan gets to talk more (If he doesn't immediately concede the role to Arin once *it* happens)!

Watching this is getting across to me how good Dan is getting at impressions. His impressions of, for example, Gundham, or Fuyuhiko, have a lot of life to them, and incorporate a lot of aspects of the voices. Usually the voices are Arin's thing, but Dan's on his way to being a skilled voice actor too, even if he's not pursuing it as targetedly.

Pretty sure Nagito's behavior during the trial gave them a big pause. But ngl, when I first played the game, I thought Nagito was at least related to Makoto because 1) Ultimate Lucky Student and 2) "Byakuya". Took that first trial to change my mind completely.

i didn't stop thinking that on my first playthrough until the very very end (trying to keep spoiler-free, but you know what i mean lol) i was theorizing in my head that he was the traitor and that the reason he was so insane was bc of the trauma of the first game. makoto did get a bad case of the swirly eyes during his failed execution

V3's ending pissed me off because it felt like the devs were mocking my love of their series. But I'd recommend anyone play it, at least for Kokichi Ouma. "It's a lie!" :D

@@RanMouri82 that wasn't really the point of the ending, the message behind it was that fiction has the power to change the world, and even though the characters are fictional they still felt real to the player, who may have even cried to some of their deaths.

Spoilers I knew everyone's favorite purple gremlin child was going to die before he did but it absolutely broke my heart when he died 💔 and then they killed kaito immediately after. V3's the first time I was actually salty about which characters survived in this series

I love how 1 million album sales doesn't seem like a big number until you realize that Ibuki made that album in middle school, and I doubt her parents or any adults helped her out on that.

(13:51) Seeing them roast my favorite character is hilarious! I used to call her “Veronica” because she reminded me of Ronald McDonald, and Ronald can be shortened to the unisex name Ronnie, sort for Veronica. But Wendy is hilarious too, but my real life friend is already the girl on the logo.

It may be obvious in retrospect, but to the new player, the game does a lot of work to make you think they are the same. Same talent, same voice actor, similar outfits, and even their names are anagrams of eachother. Given the nature of the premise, memory alteration, despair disease, and other junk, its possible in theory that they were the same person up until Makoto logs in himself.

Fun fact the main twist was actually supposed to be every cast character in the game was a time skip or a translation of the first cast with Naegi being the new mastermind. Shown by how some characters share a lot with their old counterparts They changed it as they thought turning every character especially Makoto to be evil as too unwholesome
