Littlefinger has the most poignant phrase in the series so far in my opinion. "It's the story we agree to tell each other, over and over, until we forget that it's a lie.".
@TheShadowSythe10 жыл бұрын
Littlefinger is also the topic of one of my favorite quotes of the series. "He would see the realm burn if he could be king of the ashes"

This really captured what the show is all about. When Martin write the series he intended it to be a commentary on the things that people feel they must fight for and the things they believe they could not live without. The heart and mind within all of us locked in constant battle.

This video kind of reminds me of how stable the kingdom was under Robert Baratheon. His death really was the thing that brought it all tumbling down, wasn't it? For me it makes me kind of re-evaluate him to some degree. He was this fun-loving guy, but he really was larger than life in the power he held as king.
@ThomasHoward4thDuke8 жыл бұрын
+OneOnOne1162 When you've got a king who's claim is recognised by everybody then you don't really have any major problems. But the second somebody with a claim just as strong challenges it then shit get's royally fucked up
@runningwolfpup12935 жыл бұрын
Idk man, I always sorta thought that it was Jon Aryn who held the kingdom together. Because, let's be honest, Robert didn't do much ruling wise. Never showed up for council meetings ( lord stark was told to represent him), whored his way through the seven kingdoms, and drove his kingdom into a massive amount of dept. Jon Aryn was the only person standing in between someone taking advantage of his stupidity and total chaos. When he was murdered was when things went to shit. And a fun loving guy? Lmao, we are talking about the man who rejoysed in the murder of a baby and a young girl just because of their sire... I mean he was going to do it again with Danny. I say let him rot.
@blackbird38475 жыл бұрын
I agree. Even though he was fat lazy and irresponsible, he was a good king; because he knew he wasn’t a good king. He made sure to appoint people that were much smarter than him (Varys, Petyr), and people that weren’t afraid to guide him and tell him when he’s wrong (Ned, Jon). His biggest flaw was his hatred for the Targaryens, but in the end even he agreed that killing Dani and her child was wrong. Everything crumbled after he died
@user-gy7zc9xl1x4 жыл бұрын
Nah, Robert’s worst mistake was mistreating Cersei (cheating, raping and hurting her when in bed, beating her, saying Lyanna’s name in their bedding ceremony). Cersei in the books says in their wedding she really thought that she was genuinely happy in their wedding, and in the show she says she loved him once. Every king has to be a good (almost decent) husband bc he needs a heir to perpetuate his legacy, and an doubtless one. If he hadn’t bothered her, she might wanted to bearing his children. Also he may be a little more concerned about the realm, he left spiders (Varys) and snakes (Littlefinger) in the garden, ready to betray him. Jon Arryn as hand was the only good choice he made. So nah, Bobby B wasn’t a good king at all, he was an abusive cheating husband, he wanted to kill little children and later a pregnant woman just for being siblings with the dude who took his manic pixie dream girl (he really didn’t loved Lyanna, just the idea of her, and she didn’t wanted to be with him at all), he took his kingdom to a massive debt and as soon as he died civil war broke out.
