Games of Thrones has the best female characters.

At the start of GoT most women were victims or chattel. Now almost of the major male characters who survive were essentially decent men throughout but the women who survived were smart, strong and focused. Although that didn't help Marjory, dammit.

I’m so glad this includes margaery, she is so often overlooked in got multifemale edits and she was such a badass in her own right and way!

I like game of thrones cuz they show women who stood up for themselves and don't let anyone bring them down. They show the true meaning of power.Power isn't about being able to make everyone bow down to you its about main yourself go higher than those you had to bow down to.

Props for the references, like starting with Melisandre's ruby necklace than shifting to Sansa's gifted poison necklace, the prison scenes, Margaery getting dragged away and then becoming Cersei being thrown into her cell, and closing out with Daenerys' line seemingly in response to the call for Cersei "long may she reign." Got goosebumps.

Ugh, love this so much. The song reminded me of Sansa (esp considering the parallels between the first few lines and Sansa's "my skin has turned to porcelain, to ivory, to steel" in ASOIAF) so I had to see if someone made a vid about her. This is even better than what I expected. Love the quotes about fire and the bits drawing comparisons between Arya's blindness and the "fading colors" lyric.

YESSS so much girl power i love it!

There are so many amazing qualities to this amazing book and tv series, but damn how the ladies have turned into some of the best parts to this incredibly diverse story!! It's funny how all the way up to even last season different people would rip on them for some scene or another in terms of exploiting women sexually, especially after the rape of Sansa last season, which wasn't in the books. Thing is I feel that was the catalyst for the real beginning of the reinvention of her character, all before that she let whatever happened to her hold her back while after she escaped with Theon at the end of season 5 is when she became the bad ass we all love now and any true fan knew she always could be, basically she broke the chains that everyone always tried to hold her back in a metaphorical sense, and boy was it even more awesome that in the end she was the one who ended Ramsay for good!!! Yet Sansa is only one of so many awesome female roles they have, Arya, Brienne, Catelyn (RIP, that sucked to lose her in the red wedding), Margery (didn't deserve to be blown up), Olena, Ellaria, even Cersei we hate her but honestly you can't say you don't love to hate her. She's that type that no matter what she does, and she's done plenty of heinous shit, you can't forget her one redeeming quality her children, the fact that she lost all of them you can't help but sympathize with her even to a certain extent despite our feelings of contempt for her. All in all one of the reasons I loved season 6 so much is the rapid heel turn they did on the females being just as badass if not even a little more than the men. It's awesome to know Martin is a feminist himself being a proud feminist myself, as a young white male I proudly stand up for the equality of females and honestly everyone, it shouldn't be this person gets this equality and that person that one no we're all the same.

I love how Game of Thrones truly sets up the female characters to reach an arc instead of just trying to make the strongest female character off the bat to say they accomplished feminism. Each is so different. Some are the most intelligent in the room, some are mentally strong and have endured hell but came out on top, others are strong rulers and leaders, some are physically strong, others are experts at fighting, some are just so badass, others are kind. Such a wide range of personalities and strengths that the audience can take away from this. But they have all grown from something and have developed along the plot. This is why I love this show and it will always be my number 1, no matter how it ended
