The Three-Eyed Raven, the most terrifying player in the Game of Thrones, better at surveillance than Varys and capable of doing more psychological damage than even Ramsay (if Bran could turn Wyllis into Hodor by accident, he could turn anyone unlucky enough to piss him off into a Reek-like wretch with but a glance). It was so satisfying to see, Littlefinger is an extremely ruthless and clever man, but he is also a man who is to ruthless for his own good and not nearly as clever as he likes to thinks he is, sooner or later, someone was going to catch onto his game and in this scene l someone finally did, Bran ultimately being the person to get the better of Baelish is very poetic considering it was his late uncle Brandon who defeated him the first time, like many of the GOT villains before him, Walder Frey, Roose Bolton, Ramsay Snow, Joffrey Baratheon, Cersei Lannister and Tywin Lannister, Petyr caused the circumstances that ultimately led to his own death.

@@DeepRekkan The original point doesn't quite stand, but I would say that this is rather a moment where more of the the politics-oriented characters start to encounter the supernatural first-hand and in quick order (as opposed to it being an "abstract" worry to shrug off due to previously having a large degree of separation from it despite hearing about it). Baelish could handwave shit like rumblings of the supernatural in Bran's travels and from the Night's Watch because they happened to someone else, and dragons being on the battlefield for the first time in centuries can be put out of his mind because he sits back comfy far from battle to plan out his next tactical play no matter which way the fighting goes. But not this time. He is DIRECTLY confronted by a crippled time wizard who could dredge up his own words from years ago that nobody ordinary could feasibly relay as proof of his guilt. This later transfers to his trial where more time wizarding completely trumps any political play or pleading he could muster. Cersei has something similar where she thinks the silly dragons and zombies will just totally cancel each other out and that she'll be fine when Dany comes back South, because all that magic nonsense is happening way up north. Not in her comfortable castle way down south.

@hristoitchov Жыл бұрын
@@TxWIll No, according to the books he can see everywhere. The trees aren't a limiting factor, they just make it easier to see in those locations. From a Quora answer: In the books, the first set of visions that Bran sees - before he woke up from his fall - covers much of the known world. From the Wall and beyond, all of Westeros, across the Narrow Sea into the Dothraki Sea and all the way to Asshai by the Shadow.
@TxWIll Жыл бұрын
That's actually kinda complicated. There are two different powers he uses. In the first book he has a dream where he sees a premonition of what's about to happen to the whole world, but that's not the same power as this, and that is most likely 3 Eyed Crow projecting a dream into Bran. That's a power called greensight. In the last book he manages to tap into the weirwood network, which allows him to basically be wherever there are wierwood trees. Later on he even goes back into the past but he can only see up until the tree getting planted. Brynden tells him that over time he might be able to see beyond the trees but it's never explained exactly to which extent. But this doesn't mean he'll be able to see literally anywhere in the world, especially not as far as Essos, and it's not the power he uses in the first book.

It's incredible how the entire "ladder speech" has unfolded up until this point. If you re-watch that scene Littlefinger describes how the realm and all these beliefs around it are illusions and that only the ladder (chaos) is real. And only few get to climb it, which then pans to a shot of Jon Snow literally climbing the wall. Now, flash forward to this episode and look how far Jon has come. How he continues to climb the ladder with the whitewalkers as an imminent threat, while Cersei and Daenerys and the rest focus on the realm. If George RR Martin is as brilliant as we think he is, Jon Snow will end up at the top of the ladder when it all ends. He's the eventual hero to end it all and bring peace once again.

But the writers didn't have TIME to develop any of those things...and it just became a soap opera level of writing. Silly one line quips and cuts away from people when they just reached an important conversation. Very tragic.

For some reason, that scene made me go "Ohhh shit..." much more than the Dothraki vs Lannister battle. Bran made me very uneasy in the beginning this season, but not in a creepy way anymore. This is one of the many themes I wish Seasons 7 and 8 didn't rush past: emphasizing the remaining politics-centric characters being bluntly confronted with the supernatural and their ways of either understanding it or desperately denying it. The grumkins and snarks are here, and not just dismissible as an abstract concept on a battlefield far from home anymore.
@EvilSapphireR Жыл бұрын
this is what game of thrones had always originally been about. it was supposed to answer the long standing what if scenarios geeks and nerds had always asked among themselves in private (because it is seen as too childish to ask) , how does a realistic plot grounded in our world's reality would fare if elements outside the rules of that reality were introduced in it (for example, WHAT IF Batman was in Breaking Bad). GRRM literally wrote the literary device of 'the wall' to emphasise on this nature of the story. The two realities were separate until the day the 'wall came down' and the two worlds collided. THIS is what everything in GOT was leading up to, and THIS was GOT's unique selling point, the reason it became so immensely popular in the first place. Everyone was invested for so long to see the 'what-if' unfurl. it's enraging to see D&D completely miss the point, and even after finally introducing the battle of the long night the story went out the way of keeping the two worlds separate, and tried to justify it by saying GOT had always been about the THRONES and the POLITICS. Like NO dude, GOT had always been about what a real world politics would look like with added elements of the supernatural, and it's infuriating to see the show writers of all the people miss the point.

@Wodz306 жыл бұрын
Baelish is not on her list. Joffrey put the hit out on Bran. Baelish lost the dagger to King Robert in a bet. Joffrey stole the blade while they were in Winterfell. These are facts.
@Spartan5366 жыл бұрын
Baelish is on borrowed time as it were, he may not be on her list, that does not mean she will not add to it. A good assassin collects information on the target, Bran is more than a wealth of knowledge at her disposal, and he knows her talents.

im pretty sure everyone here is thinking the same thing, this season will be Littlefinger's last. In ep.3 we learned his method: calculate all possiblities, all outcomes. But now with all-seeing all-knowing Bran 'Don't call me Bran Stark' Stark in the mix, that all goes completely out the window. I mean how can you do any conniving and scheming if there is someone around who knows everything ever? edit: heh, Bran - out the window. Didnt even realize

I think that dagger once belonged to Rhaegar. He had rubies on his armor. The dagger has one in its hilt, while also having a dragon bone handle, which is black. Rhaegars armor was also black I believe. Was probably part of a matching set.

1:31 Littlefinger realizes that the Starks know more than they're letting on. From this point on, the Littlefinger we see in the show is a Faceless Man while Baelish himself is already absconding to Braavos to plot his next move.

As much as that would make sense and be a cool twist i doubt we have anymore time for it sadly, Littlefinger is dead
@snehalpatil51662 жыл бұрын
The faces worn by the faceless men are of dead people so LF has to die one way or another.
@Liberty-or-Death-17762 жыл бұрын
@@snehalpatil5166 Well, in the show continuity (books are a different story, but I still get the feeling magic is involved there too) we can clearly see two people wearing the same face at the same time (the kindly man and the waif both wear Jaqen's face, and I believe Jaqen is still alive on Westeros...so 3 people wear it at the same time). This would be impossible if the face required were simply a physical face from the dead person. There must be glamour magic involved. In the scene where the Kindly Man dies we see that he has Arya's face while she is still alive and physically pulling faces off his corpse. So they can also wear the faces of living persons. Therefore, it is quite possible for a faceless man to wear Littlefinger's face while he is still alive and absconding to Braavos.

One of the most riveting moments from the final two seasons. Quiet intensity, which is what the show did best in its early years. I love Littlefinger's slow blink when Bran drops the line. Looks like a mix of sheer disbelief and an attempt to calm himself and process how to react.

as far as Littlefinger is concerned he doesnt know that brandon can "see" what he did, but he certainly thinks brandon "heard" what hes done. The difference being that in LittleFingers mind Brandon must have been told about his schemeing (because naturally LF is used to the idea of "little birds" finding out and telling secrets) his natural course of action would be to find who "told" brandon of his convo with varyss. the real problem is that Brandon can "see" what LF has done. so for example LF would go an try and fuck over varyss thinking that somehow he told brandon this info to mess him up. or try and spread lies about Varyss to brandon in order to plant a seed of mistrust. Meanwhile Brandon see right through it because he knows these things due to supernatural abilities. Its basicly just a much worse scenario for LF because he would go about his business thinking Bran was playing the #game using the same rules LF and Varyss are (which hes not since hes the 3 eye raven).

Littlefinger simply would not stay in winterfell after this moment. Bran is practically saying, listen buddy I know exactly what you’ve done. It just does not make sense for him to stay in winterfell. If anyone has seen that theory where the littlefinger that got his throat slit was a faceless man... his reaction to bran saying chaos is a ladder is just proof that he would use the faceless man card for survival.
