As a North-Eastener, I'm always astounded by how perfect his Geordie accent is in the show. Sometimes the Geordie and Irish accent overlap and there are a few similarities, but it's not an easy accent to perfect and a lot of it is in the intonation - which he's got spot on. Also pretty pleased that Jon Snow is best mates with a "Geordie" 😏😏

So that's what the accent is called, thanks.

It really isn't easy. I used to date a Geordie and he tried to teach me to say "bacon buttie on a paper plate" in his accent and still I can't get it quite right. But Liam's mastery of it was incredible.

Davos & Stannis are both fair, even-minded, honest, loyal men and they deserve to come out on top. They've made it so far and been through so much in the series. Each one has struggled through diversity, being universally disliked for unbased reasons. Davos is known as the dumb smuggler raised to Hand but Stannis sees his true worth as a faithful, intelligent companion. Stannis is regarded as the stern, hard soldier without compassion but Davos knows he is the most just leader around. My favs!

The writers are doing such a great job mashing all these POVs and side stories together with the essence intact. I couldn't agree more that it must be really difficult to adapt the books. There's much more characters and stories to pick from. Some of these new scenes add nuances to the entire show. I'm so happy that David & Dan pulled it off so well. This series has got to be one of the game changers in TV productions: quality writing, quality acting, quality direction & quality sets/costumes.

I also really appreciate Stannis tolerance towards Davos' honesty. I hope Davos and Stannis turn out OK when the series ends.

I think it's because they make the characters that are from various areas in Westeros have the same accent as other characters in the same area, and that those accents are analogous to actual regional english accents.

Davos, is absolutely my favorite character. For the sole reason that he has a trait that I believe only Ned Stark had. Loyalty. He respects Stannis as both a ruler and possible king, because he believes that Stannis will be the most just, and he is truly honest. I've always considered Stannis to be very cold, but with re-reading the series a bit. I noticed, and this is most likely my opinion, that they are very true friends. I love Davos, and I hope he does something great by series end.

I find interesting that Liam explains Davos' backstory in several interviews. I hope they explain that in the show a little bit more, because, when I was watching last episode with a friend who hasn't read the books, he started asking wtf were they talking about. He was like: "He has his nuckle bones were?, Stannis is good with the cleaver?". I think they are having some problems delivering some of the backstory in general. It must be really difficult, though, to adapt that part of the books
