Damn this hits hard, my friend and I put in hours trying to complete this game on Mega Drive. That same friend is now in a mental institution, lost to the world, due to drug abuse. Damn how I miss those days.

It's amazing how much the sound of the waves adds to this music. I've always felt it sounds incomplete without the waves. With the waves, it's genuinely one of my favourite musical pieces of all time, it's so soothing and beautiful.

Outrun (the game) is a metaphor for life and the choices you make. I would feel nothing but peace and have no regrets if this happens to be the game over music to it.

For some reason this theme brings back memories of my favorite arcade back in the day dimly lit by neon beer signs and the sounds of fun arcades being played by the kids in the 90s, I'll always miss those days.

I was born after those days and yet I long for a feeling like that. The closest I'd really come to it is playing Pokemon Sapphire on my unlit Game Boy Advance, passively lit by street lights while my parents drove at night. Some landmarks in those games had music with a whimsical feel similar to this Ultimately when it comes to VGMs, I yearn badly to have been born in the late-80s instead of the mid-90s so I could've heard Sonic CD's Palmtree Panic [past] when the game first dropped. It's already one of my top-5 favorite VGM tracks of all time and I wasn't even born until the following year.

Brings back so many memories of me and my friends at the local arcade in the 90s (had 2 Outrun cabinets). I'd usually go off and play fighting games like street fighter. One day it was out for repairs. So I settled with Outrun and damn it was so much fun! I'd give anything to have those days back. Life seemed less scary back then.

One thing I've never seen mentioned is how you felt this theme as a calming effect (after just finishing a game that was so high on adrenaline). Especially as you entered your initials against the backdrop of a setting sun skyline as it played.
