2:13:26 addict most people were in ultimate anyway. It’s been called the best deal in gaming for years if you not in that’s on you. Gamepass ultimates value for the console player came from the fact you got both console game pass and Xbox live gold while literally saving money. Console gamepass and good were both $10 a month gamepass ultimate was $15. Again if you didn’t see that and didn’t join that on you

@@Ciki92 PC has different circumstances in their ecosystem like they don’t pay for online. Console and PC are different therefore different prices. PC games aren’t $70 either. That’s a problem beyond Microsoft and they’re not alone it in.

People are blaming Game Pass for people not buying games, but it’s free to play games that have stopped people from buying games. 4 people I know in real life who play games only play Fortnite, if they try another game it has to be free to play and I’ve twisted there arm twice in 4 years to sub to game pass for a month or two for a game to play together. They think spending money to play a game is a waste of money and they don’t need to do it anymore.

You can play Black Ops 6 early on Gamepass. I was on PC Gamepass and converted back to Ultimate because of Cloud gaming and to get every game Gamepass offers. My son has got into gaming and I still have my One S he uses for Cloud gaming because it visually looks better through the cloud than natively from the One S. Addict has had one too many bad takes for my taste. Can't stay subbed to his channel if I don't like the content ✌️

Game Pass Console means no online play. So you need console pluse live/core for online play unless you only go online with F2P games. No matter how you cut it it was better to be on ultimate if you played games online. Also, I'm about tried of people talking like live was just to play online. Our friends list, team/party chat, LFG, Community Events, messaging, etc... It's not just online access. Should it be free? Maybe, but it all works. I don't need to set up multiple programs to get things going. Steam has the benefit of scale so they can afford all the perks the provide. They have a virtual monopoly in PC gaming with a Tesla esque cult like following. they have potential userbase numbering in the hundreds of millions, active daily users numbering in the tens of millions, and over 100 million active monthly users. Just wanted to put that out there.

It shows they don’t have a lot of confidence in their console gaining new users with the games they have coming. Or Microsoft is sick of waiting and just wants everything everywhere to make that $$$ Ultimate is gonna be 22.95 for me a month and I’m thinking $25 would be my limit. If it went higher I might cancel for slow months and resign up for months with games I want to play on the service. Half the games I currently play I buy.

Gamepass standard is essentially equal to PlayStation plus extra. Gamepass ultimate is the same just priced at $20. Anybody outraged better not be on PlayStation neither

King was cooking this week. He said it perfect. If 20 bucks is too much for you then you may have wrong hobby. 20 bucks is a quarter tank of gas. Also wanted to say how awesome the fire stick app is. Didn't think much of it until I had a couple homies who have been Playstation for years and years all of sudden showing up to the party this past weekend. Talking shit isn't going to attract people to the brand. They didn't feel like it was worth it before the price changes and they're probably not going to be feel like it's worth the price now after the changes. No one is going to spend $200-$500 to buy an xbox console to sub to gamepass for COD. The console players that play COD on console aren't going to buy a PC to sub to gamepass to play COD either. Where are the new subscribers going to come from? You guys simply do not get it.

@@EpicScreenReviews I don't think you get it. Xbox is on Fire Stick now. Xbox is on your phone now. Xbox is on your TV now. They don't have to buy a $500 console when they can just sub for $20. Thats how they attract new people. If $20 for CoD isn't enough to entice you to play then all the other things aren't going to do it and never were. The $1 conversion wouldn't do it. The Day 1 games didn't do it. The Zenimax games didn't do it. The massive 3rd party games didn't do it. The exclusives didn't do it. It's just like I said. You were never gonna be about it so why act like it? So why try to pretend to be outraged? King is right.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong: I did some research a while back. Last reported Xbox Live numbers I found via google was around 12 million subscribers, that was before Live was folded into Game Pass. Phil Spencer said during the business update that Game Pass was around 34 million subs. In 2022 it was reported that Xbox Game Pass had 25 million subs. If you add 25 million Game Pass subs + 12 million Xbox live subs that equals 37 million subs. So somewhere along the way they've lost 3 million subs if Xbox is still at 34 million subs now.

Making GamePass a way less enticing deal for on-boarding new console players is an interesting strategy. MS wants to grow their sub service and make money back on their multi-billion investments.
