Great tip! Thanks. 👍 Correct me if I'm wrong but the trim sheets don't seem to come with an ID map. The ones I own (not many) like the one supplied with DecalMachine don't seem to provide the ID map. Is there a way to generate one to use in Quixel along with the others? Cheers!

Correct, he is a stingy bastard. Our trims, on the other had, DO come with proper ID maps so you can texture the hell out of them. Check our our brand new course for trims: gumroad.com/l/IfmVI

"Request" can you make Blender hardop/boxcutter models to Quixel mixer workflow? this will be very nice from you and i think it will make models texturing art directable

So can you clarify because I'm having a hard time searching online finding what Quixel Mixer IS and ISN'T. Is it a replacement for something like Substance Designer where you can create your own unique materials, or is it simply for painting/compiling those materials, like Substance Painter? I'm really new to this and I'm just trying to figure out what my workflow should be like between Blender and Unreal and any other software I might need to install/purchase (like substance designer, painter, etc.)

You can create your own smart materials in QM, there are things that QM doesnt do yet, like baking

@@PonteRyuurui Oh, for real? I haven't seen a video of anyone using a node setup. I guess you just make unique materials using current ones, hence the name "Mixer?" Thanks for the reply dude, I really appreciate, too many content creators ignore the comments. I'll just get it and try it myself, it seems interesting and pretty useful, but without baking, that means I can't actually export the material to something like Unreal Engine, yeah?

not procedural, but they are tileable

Oh, so the scratches/dirt/rust patterns are all image base? Ok, then I can imagine that is easier to make them tillable for stencils.

@@aab-aab i think you are confusing two things, textures themselves can be procedural, but once applied to a trim sheet, they are baked in, so not procedural anymore.

@@PonteRyuurui ok, maybe I wasn't clear on my question And i also had a typo there. I understand the mechanical panels and trim sheets are supposed to be tillable horizontally. I was actually asking if the grunge textures from mixer's smart materials were also automatically tiling well when applied to the trim sheet. And, if these grunge textures were procedural or image based.
