This is the original theme song to the game show Pyramid hosted by Dick Clark and Bill Cullen. Rest in peace Bill and Dick. I completely edited the song to the exact way it was heard on the show. So enjoy this clean and proper rendition of the song Tuning Up written by Ken Aldin. I don't own the song, just a fun project. I have created another video for the $25,000 Pyramid hosted by and in memory of Bill Cullen. • Game Show Music : $25,...

Agree with previous posters, this IS the definitive version (& so clean & full of fidelity too!) that made this show was it was. I remember as a kid growing up on Long Island, once day a classmate & I skipped school to go to a taping of the show, and when this theme played in the studio, it was an amazing experience to be part of. Thanks for posting the theme Taker!

I have wanted to be on Pyramid since I was three years old. I drove from West Des Moines, Iowa, to Dallas, TX to audition last time when Donny Osmond brought it back. This time, I am going to fly to New York and try yet again now that ABC has resurrected in the PROPER FORMAT again...COMPLETE with the turning trilons! I have wanted to be on this show now 44 years...I'm 47 and will never give up trying. Thanks for this fantastic upload!

Isn't LA where Pyramid first started on CBS? If I remember correctly, The $10,000 Pyramid started on CBS, then when they went to $20K, $25K(Cullen) and $50K, to New York, on ABC, only the $20K was shown on ABC directly and both the $25K(Cullen) and $50K were syndicated. Then it went back to LA and CBS as The New $25K and five years later, The $100K syndicated.

+chrismc410 No. $10,000 Pyramid started on CBS in 1973 from the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York (where the Late Show is now done). When it moved to ABC in 1974, it made its new home at ABC Studio 15 (Elysee Theatre) in NY. With the exception of a few weeks in the Fall of 1973 on CBS (when it taped some shows in LA), the show was done from NY from its debut on CBS in 1973 until the end of the $50,000 run in 1981.

+anakin1255 The show premiered in March 1973 from the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York. The only exception was a few weeks of shows in Nov. 1973 taped in LA. The show moved to ABC in May 1974, but the first six weeks were still taped at the Ed Sullivan theatre as the ABC stagehands were building the new set at tv-15.

Is it just me, or did the version of this song that was actually used on-air sound different? Here, and elsewhere on KZfaq where people share this song, during the bridge, you can hear both the organ AND the bass. I've only ever heard the bass when watching actual Pyramid episodes on KZfaq (same thing years ago, when I actually watched it on TV)...
@rg8152
@rg8152 9 ай бұрын
The on-air version was a mono recording on tape (if you’re a member of TVPMM, you’ll notice the stereo full theme and a mono on-air cut in the master copy of the theme package). Also add to the fact that the program itself was taped in mono (ABC didn’t begin to go stereo until around ‘84) so that’s why the audio output is different on air. The version you hear in this video is a slightly sped up and edited version of the full original (stereo) Ken Aldin theme to match the on-air version (you hear the edit jump at the very end of this video)
