I mean, the communists (mainly the soviets) have historically been extremely skilled with building and flying spacecraft, after all they did achieve 90% of the victories during the Space Race. So maybe the fact that Mario is using rocket fuel as his fireballs isn’t a coincidence

I mean, both jet and piston aircraft engines use water/methanol injection to boost power output. The methanol adds to the combustion, while the water cools the engines.

the other remaining question is why when these fireballs can bounce around on grass and not leave the Mushroom Kingdom with spots of charred lawn and smoking mystery boxes, not to mention the types of toxins that would spill out of the chemicals used to make the fire, or the burning corpses of those poor Goombas.

Considering we get the powerup from a plant, id argue the oxidizer is Ammonium Nitrate, which is a fertilizer as well as a strong Oxidizer. For example, the Beirut Explosion in 2020 which had effects similar to a low-yield nuclear blast, was mainly caused by several thousand tons of Ammonium Nitrate reaching its critical point and detonating.

That was bugging so much. I kept twisting my brain trying to think of a representation model I know of that would use that for either elemental oxygen or O2. But, nada.

@@le.banana Super Saiyan most definitely, the Mushroom is easily recognizable, but the Super Saiyan transformation is more universally known and used in media compared to the shroom. Making it more iconic.

The explanation I have for why rocket fuel comes from a flower is that it's a highly energetic plant. A plant like that may exist irl so maybe the fire flower is that same plant
