Simple answer: genetic engineering. Shiny Joy didn't wear sunscreen. The other tropical nurses prob did and Shiny Joy also worked a lot more outdoors.

it would explain why she's tan as well. The island nurse joy did deep dives in the ocean. Most sun-screen is not very water-proof, likely because it would clog your pores. She is also shown to be able to do extreme sports with her canoe with ease (traveling something like 30 mph just via paddeling)

I have a different theory: In the Pokemon universe, "Pokemon Center" is a brand name, like PetSmart. Nurse Joy is the mascot of the Pokemon Center. They only hire women that meet a certain profile; the rest is make-up/contacts and a pink wig. Because she's the mascot of the brand, whenever you go to a Pokemon Center, no matter what region you're in, you're guaranteed to have (a) Nurse Joy heal your Pokemon. Nurse Joy = Brand recognition.

Using your theory with nurse joy on officer Jenny works as well but nurse joy is not a chancey but in fact a plusle and minun is officer Jenny and that they have evolved from them

For that to actually work, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy shoulve look the same but in different costume and color? They should've share the same hairstyle etc. Cause Plusel and Minun are almost identical twins, just different color and symbol. That also defeats the idea of Nurse Joy being a healer cause Plusel isn't exactly associated to healing as much as Chanceys are.

Seems also worth pointing out that Pokemon naming structures tend to follow a pattern. You have the Chars, the turtles, the saurs, ect. Chansey, becomes Blissey. Joy is a synonym for bliss.

because its an evolution, not a morphing. look at shiny charmander's evolution tree. shiny charmander is yellow ish. shiny charmeleon becomes a bit brighter yellow but not the same as charmander. and then shiny charizard is just black. evolutions don't necessarily have the same color scheme as their pre-volutions. exact same thing with chansey and blissey. and nurse joy would be the next evolution from blissey, hence different color shiny.

One thing I'm surprised you didn't mention when talking about Meowth was that learning to speak and walk upright actually crippled his ability to function as a Pokemon. Team Rocket's Meowth can't use or learn Payday, and it's implied it can't evolve, either.

Fun mini theory I've had for awhile: It was confirmed in Journeys that Team Rocket's Meowth can Gigantamax and as we know in Sword in Shield, Gigantamax Meowth can't evolve until you remove it's ability to Gigantamax with some Max Soup. Therefore, Team Rocket's Meowth can't evolve currently, but if it were to eat some Max Soup then it could if it wanted. But that's just a theory, a Game Theory! (also this theory extends to Ash's pikachu who also can gigantamax; and maybe possibly Koharu/Chloe's eevee who can't evolve although it hasn't been confirmed if her eevee can gigantamax or not yet)

No he did mention it. The only reason I'm sure is because this was something I was unaware of. And I think thats how he explains why nurse Joy herself doesn't use healing eggs or whatever and why there need to be Chanseys. They just evolved into Joy without powers to be the face of the hospital to get humans and their pokemon to be healed by them.

Nurse Joy definitely knows more than she is saying that she knows. She is able to successfully heal pokemon that are supposedly there in the party without them actually being accessible to the player to use in combat. This is from Pokemon Diamond Game by the way.

@@vijayanand6650 Instead of thinking of it as the next in the sequence of names, why not think of it as the human version of Blissey? If Chansey evolved into human, it would basically be an alternate evolution to Blissey. Bliss and joy have very similar meanings, which would work well for the naming system as it would be a simplified, more human version of the name Blissey.

Nurse joy is the peak of human evolution with every single gene being dominant. Also, they procreate with humans, meaning either all humans are pokemon in the same breeding class which essentially means nurse Joy can also be considered human as humans are pokemon.

About Nurse Joy, I have a theory: The whole story of the animated version of Pokémon is that when Ash grows up, he is telling people how he became the champion of the Pokémon League. He doesn't remember all the policemen and nurses he met, so all the policemen and nurses are the same person. This also explains why he is always ten years old in this story, because he omitted how old he was then.

Maybe Ash really doesn’t remember that much due to his short term memory because he’s young. Maybe he got “the short term memory” from his dad. Or he got hit on his head or got attacked by himself and Pokémon a lot. Maybe that explains why he couldn’t remember that much. Unlike Brock, Misty, and others, they do remember well because they are highly intelligent?

Happiny (hold Oval Stone, Daytime) ➡️ Chansey (high Friendship) ➡️ Blissey. Now my theory is (use Humanoid Stone) on Chaney ➡️ Nurse Joy and For (use humanoid Stone) on Blidssey ➡️ Nurse Joy. I think a Humanoid Stone is the extremely rare to fine. Or might be a Ditto

Latias has the ability to look human as well, specifically the one she's the closest too. Unlike Ditto with Transform or Zorua and Zoroark with Illusion, I'm pretty sure Latias doesn't have a natural transformation ability.

I've seen this theory video several times and keep waiting for the Jenny video, but I've finally came to my own conclusion... Jenny is the final evolution of Sqirtle. They mainly team up with the dogs (Gro. and Ar.) to deal with their weakness to fire and their lack of speed and dexterity.

I've been saying for a while, humans in the Pokemon universe are all Pokemon. The Ashes of the different regions, Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, and the other trainer types, are just humans that have selected those evolution lines.

I remember an episode where meowth tried to learn the skill payday, but eventually realized he couldn’t learn it because he had given up the ability to learn new skills in exchange for the ability to walk and talk like a human. This would go in line with your theory, and maybe meowth could have evolved entirely into a human had he been willing to give up all of his Pokémon powers in exchange.

It was actually only pay day that he forgot if I remember right. Fun fact, this is canon as many Pokemon learn multiple moves at the same level, so, if meowth learned "walk and talk" he is then left with scratch and fury swipes as his remaining 2 "legal" moves XD with slash and shadow-claw coming later. (not sure if he still has fury swipes )

We all know that Nurse Joy appears in various Poke Centers. She's lovable, caring, and filled with happiness. But what I if I told you, that it just wasn't like this? What if I told you, that she is not a human at all? But as of right now, she had multiple Pokemon with her. Like in order: Audino, *Blissey, Chansey,* Comfey, Indeedee and Wigglytuff. It's canon fact that pokemon can breed with other creatures so long as they share the same egg group and the two pokemon like each other. Chansey's egg group would in fact look similar to a humans "egg" group, they would just need to evolve to not have an external egg and incubate inside a womb instead of in an egg

What if she's a clone? I like the pokemon theory I'm just adding more to speculate about. We've seen cloning and even genetic modification in the Pokemon Universe with mew and mewtwo. So, it definelty is a possibility within the universe especially with the daughters looking exactly as their nurse joy mothers and the father being a scientist(if I'm remembering correctly). The father may be cloning and even modifying nurse joys and assigning the younger clones to more experienced clones as "daughters" for training in the nurse Joy profession.

@@konangamez9089 probably not. Sentient pokemons in-universe are recognised as that. Imagine if your cat or dog started speaking about their feelings - you would treat your pet differently, no? Plus, it's pretty much shown that Joy uses machines to heal pokemon, not magic, and if she used pokemon magic that she needed to hide - how would she treat humans AND pokemons alike? I think that it's common knowledge that Joy's are pokemons, it just isn't really good to call them that - like, if you called a black man a certain word that starts with an "n".

My theory: Nurse Joy is the offspring of a Human Male and Chansey. Chansey, when bred, gives birth 100% to females, which would explain why all the Joys are female, and also why they all have a similar color theme going on as Chansey does. But that's as far as it goes, I can't even attempt to explain why all the Officer Jennys, Porters, or Don Georges are apparently in the same boat as Nurse Joy. I couldn't find the same kind of likeness between Officer Jenny and any of the Pokémon she uses like I could with Nurse Joy, so that theory doesn't fit Officer Jenny.

His “evidence” is purely circumstantial conjecture. When the empirical evidence of her humanity is staring us right in the face, Occam’s Razor applies. If she looks, acts and talks like a human, the simplest explanation is that she’s human, not a Pokémon.
