at the end of the day if your friend does something you don’t agree with you’re not going to instantly withdraw every compliment you’ve ever given them and completely cut ties with them unless you belive that the thing they did has the gravity that dissevers and that’s in your right, but a reminder to everyone: it is normal to not support all the actions of someone and still continue to support other actions

I'm glad that with the amount of following MatPat has that he's promoting a non-absolutist perspective. That just because Scott supports a candidate you may not like it might not be for the reasons you dislike them. Heck it could be a situation where he dislikes both and is going for the lesser of two evils. All of which is perfectly understandable.

I can't see how someone can just not choose a side on something like this I think it's just the way my brain is hardwired, I can never just be neutral in something I always have to choose one side or the other So it confuses me when mat says he doesn't like what the lgbt have done, but then says he is a strong supporter of lgbt. Dude has donated more to a charity that 100% supports LGBTQ+ youth than the politicians which will partially go against LGBTQ+ rights. I think that demonstrates how he cared more about the LGBTQ+ community than he political views. Which at the very least shows he doesn't deserve to be crucified.

As someone of the LGBTQ+, I was definitely shocked when I heard the news of scott leaving, though (as my friend as told me) someone doxxed him which made it it even worse, another thing is is that someone HAD to go digging for that information and low and behold I think they kind of got the drama they wanted in a way I have grown up on fnaf and it has opened so many artistic and horror gateways for me . The community is just to amazing, the franchise is to amazing, to just leave bc of someones political choice (that was purposely dug up by strangers)

I’ve always really liked, and I played fnaf a little since 2014-15 and I never really checked out any theories or even acknowledge the lore or Scott’s whole deal. I’ve been watching every 54 I think now Fnaf lore videos since last month and I’m so hooked and it makes me so happy to watch it. It's not really surprising, I get death threats and I am a nobody. The weird thing is the people who send death threats are usually the people who complain about toxic behavior on the internet.
