Theorists, we've recently covered both the Dream SMP and ARGs here on Game Theory and our sister channel Film Theory. Today, we are closing the gap between the two with a brand new ARG from @Ranboo himself called Generation Loss. This is a BRAND NEW mystery and I am honestly very intrigued. Re-watching this after The Spirit in the Cabin and The Mastermind of the Warehouse, Ep 1 and 2 of Generation Loss. It's crazy how much Matpat was able to get right. With only 28 seconds MatPat predicted the base story for ShowFall Medias The Social Experiments. Mind Blown!!!!

I actually rewatched the episode before clicking on this, and found something that MatPat didn't mention. Towards the end of the video, two sentences flash very briefly in the bottom right corner. It took me a few tried to be able to actually pause on them but they read: "Everything has a purpose. Just not the purpose you think." I'm not quite sure what this means, or how it ties into any theory yet. I figured I would bring it up and see if anyone could possibly help.

Well, I'm no investigator, but I would think it could tie back to the part at 14:20. It seems it may be a refrence to the fact there is a purpose for them trying to hide the truth about Romny. This could also be a hint to the fact that since all the other incidents happened in the 19's, it may be trying to hint that Generation Loss has been going for many years, and in the Alternate Universe, is still hiding truth. That's my therory.

at this point I'm half expecting an ARG in the next 5 years that reveals an actual covered up story to the public, it feels like a way safer option to share classified information that's supposed to go public by disguising it as a game until it's figured out and has caught on

my thoughts exactly, the amount of times I have imagined popular streamers/youtubers creating ARG based off real classified information is disturbing. Sometimes I actually believe that some of the ARG's are actually classified information lol. If it does happen though and is later discovered as real information, I would gladly label myself as Physic.

It's hitting too personal, as someone who has issues with my memory, it hurts to watch and relate, but it's important to learn about this, because history, whether it be of a nation or of a personal life, can easily be manipulated by simply changing slight points of the narrative, which eventually leads to major generation loss after many retellings of the same story, leading to distorted memory and honestly, gaslighting...

this (generation loss) has nothing to do with dream btw just letting you know :) if i recall correctly the creator (ranboo) has said he doesn't want this to be connected in anyway and that this is something completely different that could be understood by someone who was never in any fanbase, and that he wants this to outgrow himself

Also when ranboo was getting interviewed by Anthony Pandilla, ranboo was kinda giving a lil trailer, he said something along the lines “when someone does find those tapes, what will happen to that person” which I’m assuming someone from the generation loss organization found out someone had found those tapes and which I’m assuming what correlates to “find (kill) the founder” idk just a thought

Altered history theme is actually pretty spooky in our own world. It’s of course mostly conspiracy theories with amounts of stretching and mental gymnastics done, but a lot of them are much more solid than your average flat earth illuminati aliens stuff. Armored skeptic has a huge long series called “History is a lie” that dives deep into it. The documents from the past we have that are somewhat unexplained are… unsettling. I recommend it if you are interested! Again, he’s doing it for fun mostly, so don’t take it super seriously

Something I didn't see mentioned was the text that appears in the bottom right corner at the very end of the 28 second video Ranboo released. It reads "Everything has a purpose Just not the purpose you think" I am definitely not smart enough to be able to know what exactly was meant by it, though. I am incredibly impressed by MatPat realising and connecting all of this from 28 secong video + some messages but even more impressed by the fact that Ranboo came up with it in the first place. Like bruh, i strive to be so smart and creative, especially at such a young age without much of expirience. Imagine what he will able to make content-wise in the future.

Just wanted to put my two cents in here. The symbol for Generation Loss sort of looks like it could be drawn from the St Peter's Field map he pulled up. Starting from the circle point and ending at the little check tail. It goes from Dickson St, down what looks to be 'Mount' St, Twisting up along Windmills (?)st and tipping down Peter St and then curling up the end with Lower Mosely St.

I just realized, with the first photo he looked at being a guy who studied generation memory. Generation loss could also mean the loss of the ability to form your own thoughts and ideas. Just another thing pointing to a shady organization wanting to controle the populace

10:20 Seems to be the origin of the Generation Loss symbol. When rotated 90 degrees clockwise, the streets vaguely make out the mentioned symbol. The “dot” on one of the end pointes of the symbol is then located on the intersection of Mount Street and Dickenson Street. Wonder if there is any significance.

It would also be interesting if he covered Majin and who or what he could possibly be. Did he die? Is he a demon? Is that a mustache? Is he related to Sonic himself? Is he Sonic from a different universe? That's something I'd really love to see because these questions have been plauging my mind for years and I can't come to a definitive conclusion. So yeah, I agree with you. I think it would be great if MatPat covered other bits of the lore and physics in Sonic games.

Something worth noting, the image at 15:17 shows an incomplete generation loss logo. Almost like the logo itself has experienced generation loss. Maybe the logo as we know it now is incomplete? or maybe I'm stretching here.

Ranboo mentioned changing the logo at some point for reasons he didn't reveal- so you could be right, or it could just be a design choice ^^ This whole thing is a work in progress that Ranboo's still kind of figuring things out as he goes, I believe :)
