I had a very short lived history with the sp. my experience is back in pre school actually (I’m 19 now) and I can just remember all my friends had one and this was before the DS took over. I was mesmerized by the SP. to this day I want one. that startup is just so iconic

As a 2003 kid, my specific memories are Yoshi's Island, one of the Mario and luigi RPG games, Spyro 2, Lego Star Wars, and towards 2012 to 2015 was Lion King 1 and a half, and all 3 Sonic Advance games.

if you guys grew up with GBA/GBC/GB, you remember how much of a GAME CHANGER that backlit screen was on the SP. used to have to buy weird little dongles that would plug into the top of your GBA/GBC/GB and give a shoddy external light that blocked ur screen and drained ur battery.

Here's my Gameboy Advance SP memory: I used to have a half hour transit to school back in 2007-2009 when I was in the equivalent of middle school in Germany. I took the bus and the tram/street car. To pass the time, I played Metroid Fusion on my black Gameboy Advance SP. Around that time, other kids had Nintendo DS or PSPs, and one time some older kids laughed at me saying "I remember when I had one of those!" I guess the "retro trend" wasn't really a thing at that point.

I'm gonna cry. I miss my gameboy sp advance blue edition, My dad pawned it when i was only 6. If i had it to this day still I could listen to the sound it made when starting up. also It would be worth a bit
