Just solder a 330 ohm resistor and you'll have a working bottom half of a laptop.

Lol I did this with my own broken DS Lite, using it from the video you found. I only did that because I botched the soldering the points, and didn't know what to do. That was my last resort, and somehow it worked. Still works actually. Something I'd be careful of is this: Be careful of which of the directional pads you use to bridge the gap between each point. Use one of the pads that are under the ABXY buttons, as if you take it from the D-Pad, you'll have one of the D-Pad buttons not work. I accidentally took it from one from the D-Pad, and not from the ABXY buttons, so I kinda screwed up there. Thanks for the tutorial!

There's a 3rd way to do this, it's basically keeping the top screen ribbon cable along with it's LED lights and it works

I just bought from eBay a DSL macro with no soldering or a light bar. I’m pretty convinced the owner just ripped the top screen off and believe it or not without soldering you can still get it to work mine powers on with no soldering of a resistor or a light bar as long as there’s a GBA game in there it will power on, but mine also doesn’t have any volume From a speaker

Trust me, save yourself the headache and just get a tri wing screwdriver, there's no real consistent way to unscrew one without it

Yes. I personally prefer to remove the entire touch layer of the screen when building these and it works fine. You may or may not want to add a lens if you do remove it, but if you aren't shoving it in your pocket or anything, it'll be fine.

Other way. Take top screen apart. Take rubon with led out. Put top screen rubon back on. Fold rubon right behide the screen. . Take pin holder out. Have 2 sided tape for the speaker. . Video on youtube .

Any should work since it's just meant to bridge the pads. It's meant to trick the DS into thinking the top screen is still there.

It’s very sensitive sadly. You have to get it lined up perfectly, make sure it doesn’t slide around, and make sure it has enough pressure just not too much pressure.

I don’t know if you’re still alive, but I have questions, I really want to just snap the top screen off and go into the settings and change the game into auto and have it display on the bottom screen, can I just do that or do I have to soder stuff? I really don’t care if it looks ugly. I just don’t have money for a Game Boy advance.

You can but you have to change the settings to auto start games and set it to the bottom screen BEFORE you rip it off

It’s not very common for those LEDs to go out so I’m assuming you either have a bad charge port or a bad charger

@@JakeSimmons Thanks, I took it apart again and found the EM10 chip cracked. It might have been when I was trying to get the wifi wires out =( That aside, Kapton tape worked better for me. The electrical tape just didn't stick very well.

Just done this mod with zero issues build wise but when trying to power on I get green power light then nothing? Any ideas? Black button not engaging maybe? (Although the tape was solid and secure when I put back together)

It’s either not getting good contact with both points or the bottom screen isn’t plugged in all the way

I have a DS lite where the touch screen doesn't work because the P6 connector is broken do I have to replace that connector in order to make a macro like will it still work if I don't have that plugged in?

Yo its great i tried it on a 3ds and it works but i got a lil issue it turns on once and everything works perfectly exept the power button and i cant turn it off and when i remove the battery it wont turn on for a bit🫠
