For people wanting to hunt without Herba Mystica, the best you'll get is Encounter Level 2: For Scarlet players (Encounter Power: Rock Lv. 2) use Bacon, Basil, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise, and Mustard (if you have it unlocked it's recipe 74, but free mode will give the same powers) For Violet players (Encounter Power: Dragon Lv. 2) use Avocado, Smoked Fillet, Tomato, and Salt (recipe 45)

For folks who aren’t getting the level 3 boosts: you need to use any two herba mysticas as the seasoning, which you can get from 5 or 6 star raids. The base recipe is one serving of tomato, one of onion, one of green pepper, a hamburger, and two of a type-corresponding ingredient, with the two herba mystica seasoning. The order of ingredients doesn’t matter. I’ll put a list of the ingredients that correspond to each type and how many servings the sandwich will use total for your convenience. Normal- tofu, 2 Dark- smoked fillet, 2 Fairy- tomato, 3 Fire- red pepper, 2 Water- cucumber, 2 Grass- lettuce, 2 Poison- green pepper, 3 Rock- bacon, 2 Dragon- avocado, 2 Ghost- red onion, 2 Electric- yellow pepper, 2 Bug- cherry tomato, 2 Ice- Klawf stick, 2 Steel- hamburger, 3 Ground- ham, 2 Fighting- pickle, 2 Psychic- onion, 3 Flying- prosciutto, 2 Examples I’ve actually used: •To make a steel type sandwich you’d select tomato, onion, green pepper, hamburger, hamburger, hamburger, herba mystica, herba mystica. •To make a ghost type sandwich you’d select tomato, onion, green pepper, hamburger, red onion, red onion, herba mystica, herba mystica. •To make a fire type sandwich you’d select tomato, onion, green pepper, red pepper, red pepper, hamburger, herba mystica, herba mystica. Some of the ingredients will be more difficult to stack than others, so don’t worry about the top piece of bread because it doesn’t have any impact on stats. Your sandwich might not look nice, but you also won’t have to worry about causing things to fall off.

So I learned of this method yesterday and tried it out myself, using the metric of 50 seconds per reset and 15 Bagons per reset, which is the average amount of Bagons I saw per and a reasonable reset time for them all to spawn and doing this while watching a video, I simplified the numbers to 15/1024 per 50 seconds, or about 69 resets to be at odds for a shiny (nice). So at this rate, I found that at odds, you should find a shiny Bagon in just under an hour. A good time for a hunt, but definitely not under 10 minutes. My own hunt took an hour and 20 minutes. (Note that all the time I am considering is purely sandwich time, IE only counting when the sandwich buffs are in effect and not the process of making it nor resetting your game should you not get it in 30 minutes. Tl;Dr from my personal experience and number crunching, it should take you just under an hour to get your shiny at a moderate pace. Edit: I don’t have the shiny charm, so I didn’t factor for it.

I wouldn't really consider this a glitch, it's just a small area with a wide amount of spawns. The encounter boost in a small area like this where you can picnic reset and see like 15 pokémon every 10 seconds definitely results in seeing a shiny pretty fast especially when you have a shiny boost

I did this for 30 minutes WITH the shiny charm and I got nothing! So 10 minutes or less... yeah I think not. Do not believe everything.

Honestly this is my first Pokémon game with three shinies caught before even reaching late-game/post-game. No mystical herbs, I got my shiny Mankey (for Annihilape) just by eating Encounter Lv.2 sandwiches. The other two, Oinkologne and Veluza, were just wild encounters. Never had that luck before.

So now we know where Pokémon come from….

Helpful tip for anyone struggling with sandwich ingredients falling off. You do not need to put the top piece of bread for the sandwich. It counts fully even without the top piece.

I’ve noticed it’s usually when the 15th bagon spawns out of the wall that it slows down. If the Bagons then start spreading out and giving that spot space that another could pop out. I saved before I made the sandwich because with my luck today no shiny bagon has shown up within the time limit so I can reset and start over

I was fighting the trainer in that cave during my playthrough and when I looked behind me I just saw bagon and sableye flooding the tunnel and was like "OH MY LORD!"

Few things worth noting. 1) If a mon moves close enough then they make great drop farms from Lets Go battles. 2) Can also farm shiny Sableye here with a dark/ghost sandwich. 3) MUCH easier recipe for shiny hunting Bagon uses 1 cucumber, 1 pickle, 3 avacado, and 2 of any herbas EXCEPT sweet+sour for dragon encounters. There's a great list floating around using the 1/1/3 mix for all types.

This is IMPORTANT for all Shiny Hunters! You do NOT need to put the top bread on for the sandwich to work. When making these shiny sandwiches there are a lot of ingredients so the top bread will usually make stuff fall off and the sandwich might fail. When making shiny sandwiches drag the top bread all the way to the side and just drop it. Make sure it's all the way over or it might land on the plate shaking it and possibly making ingredients fall off.

There's updated recipes to use a pickle, cucumber, and 3x of the type you're wanting ingredient but also to not use 2 sweet herba or another combo of spicy and sweet. 2x sweet will not allow any sandwich to work and the spicy + sweet will change encounter lvl 3 to catch lvl 3.

You can also get Sableye from this method using a ghost power sandwich. I used Red Onion x 1, Salty Herba Mystica x 1 and Spicy Herba Mystica x1 (can use Spicy or Sour)

Without using any of the picnic stuff I ran into a shiny Banette accidently koed it to only find a shiny Skwovet right next to me. That was insane, I do hate that I missed the Banette though.

You can actually find a chart to make those kind of sandwich for all types online pretty easy. There's only a couple exceptions to what types you can't use any two Herba for even. Using the chart I've gotten 4 shiny pokemon so far

I’ve seen someone get a glimmet outbreak at this same location and the trick worked for the glimmets as well. I would assume it’d work with any other outbreaks if you can manage to force the horde there with date skipping?

Prosciutto, red, green, and yellow peppers, with 2 avocado gives the same sandwich stats and is probably easier to put together. Might be cheaper too I know hamburger is a pricier sandwich ingredient

You can also just make a sparkling sandwich, and reset to get random shinies if you have enough bagon or larvitar already. Which I think would actually be more exciting than knowing what shiny you’ll get.

You can also send out a Pokémon to auto battle on that spot so you don’t have to reset with the camp. It also gives a bit of xp and materials to sell. Where the Pokémon spawn there’s a small spot besides a rock on the ground where your fighting Pokémon will slip into the floor. So it won’t be able to move away from the spawner

Area zero is cooler to hunt since you just gave to run around (i got shiny valiant inside the cave, it was literally the only pokemon spawning there bc there aren't any other fairy types there)

PSA FOR ANYONE TRYING TO GET THIS SHINY: This was a helpful and straight forward video, and I got my shiny, but the statement that you SHOULD get one in 10 minutes or less is a blatant lie.. Even with the charm and lvl 3 sandwich your odds of 1/512 would only get you a shiny that fast if you get INCREDIBLY lucky. It takes roughly 40 seconds to reset the spawn and have an average of 12-18 bagon spawn before resetting again ...With that math, you'll only see about 200-250 10 minutes... Which is less than half way to the statistical average. If you were to meet the average it will take you closer to 30 mins (so within the use of one sandwich) HOWEVER each spawn is mutually exclusive so at 512 encounters your odds are not 100% and your perceived odds at 512 exactly is only 63.25% of the distribution (at 250, the "shiny in 10 minutes" is under 39%) To further prove that point it just took me 1.75 hours (105 minutes) which is roughly 2,200 bagon until I found one. So be warned, if you get it in 10, consider yourself part of the lucky 30-39th percentile, and for the statistical majority of the remaining 61-70%, buckle up it could literally take you 3000+ encounters if you are unlucky enough...best of luck

I came across this video after shiny hunting a shiny dragkloak from a mass outbreak with just 5 minutes left on my shiny sandwich timer. Unfortunately, I ran out of time cause I couldn't find this cave for the life of me. Oh well, time to go look for more herba mysticas

Just tests it out myself too, level 2 boost works just as well, found mine in 35 min so if you want to be cheap, just use the great cheese sandwich

So this took me wayyyyy longer then ten minutes. To save my Herbs I turned off auto saves so I could reset the timer it I didn’t find any shinies. Took me 1 Hr and 30 minutes so three resets. I accidentally threw a save down before resetting so I ended up using 4 Herbs instead of two but I managed to get two shiny bagon out of it finally!!! Just keep grinding it may take some time! Also this method can be used for hunting shiny sableye as well

Shiny pokemon are becoming to easy to obtain so they aren't going to feel special

Lmao i was randomly wandering through this cave just an hour ago and noticed this wall spawn going on so i popped a sandwich and did just this method, popped me a bagon in about 12 mins, glad to see this has been found online, i would imagine this works for any other pokemon that spawns here, like sableye but i felt reeaaal sneaky for doing this.

i cannot reccomend this enough. Found Two shiny bagons on my first sandwich with this method. One in about 5 mins of doing the sandwich and another right as the power was expiring 😂
