Hello Everybody!! This is GamerGar and welcome to another 100 Day Stardew Valley challenge. For the purposes of this challenge we will be playing 112 (A full year) in game days in Stardew Valley but as a Vegan
As a Vegan I cannot use our sell Animal products, I have also prohibited myself from fishing and from slaying monsters in the mines.

Thanks CJonesApple :D, it was nice to experience the Winter Star event and give the NPC's presents and stuff and it didn't take that much longer to finish because I was almost at the end of the session when it got to Winter 16th anyways so it was just a small little final push :D

Hi luvtwilightromance :D thanks so much for watching :D I tried 100 Days as a Fashion designer twice now already but deleted the saves after spring because I could not get into the proper grove to make the video compelling. I will try fashion designer again down the road once I am able to make a suitable framework for best way to play to obtain clothes, hats and boots and make the video entertaining :D lol Great minds tho :D

Always wondered what a vegan challenge run would be like, but was too lazy to do it myself. So thanks for the run 😁 As a vegan myself: You know you are allowed to defend yourself, right? If I walk through a dark cave and some strange creature attacks me, I will kill it. Also stealing fruit from the bats is not cool 🤣 I also think most vegans would object to participating in the egg festival, as it celebrates exploiting chickens.

Yeah, everything does have an amount of bugs. As a veggie it's just damage reduction. There's no 100% vegan, it's the effort to get there.

Congrats on the new addition!! Really enjoyed this challenge, it was something v different!! Have you thought about 100 days as a jeweller? So you can only make money from crafting rings? Could be fun but also challenging!! Thanks for all your hard work ❤❤

Thanks for the idea! 100 Days as a jewlers sounds very interesting. It would be a lot of runs through the mines but I would have to find mods to make it more interesting :D It's something that is on the list for sure :D

You can also fish in the water outside the "spa" building. You only get trash and a mystery painting.

I wonder could I have avoided the fishing tutorial if I fished in the bathhouse area. It's worth investigating :D Saying that you cannot use the bathhouse area during winter :P Thanks for watching :D

level 100 in the mines with a training rod would probably do it! can't even hook lava eels with that rod and i don't think any other fish spawn there

great video!, the vegan CC bundles look fun but hard to do lol, but i think the worst is the non combat mines/skull caverns

I totally agree BriyithGale :D The bundles where hard but the mines and skull caverns where sometimes too hard to the point where I had to leave and go back in hoping for better enemy spawns :P

I made my own Vegan challenge for Stardew Valley (not a mod, but a set of restrictions) and I didn't include non-combat because I figured that the monsters are actively attacking you and you're only attacking out of self defense. Plus, I figured no fishing or animal products was hard enough as is (especially with vanilla CC, I had no clue there was a vegan cc mod).

Ah. 16:30 Clams in a fish pond produce roe and they’re an ingredient in chowder. I know the description says “Someone lived here once” but there seems to be enough of the creature left.

I'm so happy you're back! I was nervous that you wouldn't be able to eat things like pink cake or things like that (due to eggs in the ingredients I believe)

i love ur content omg this video is so well done and fun! love how lighthearted it was! i'm an avid stardew player and vegan of 10 years so so fun to see a challenge like this, definitely could not do this myself though hahaha dungeon crawling and combat is too much fun and i will never give up my truffle and honey empire 😤

I never actually taught about that when I was collecting the fruit. Perhaps we done a fair deal where I provide them with shelter and they provide me with fruit :D lol

Thanks. before I start a video I turn off all my mods and assemble new mod packs, I could spend 1 or 2 days going through nexus mods looking for mods that would support the ideas I have :P I would love to have a skill set that allows me to make mods!

I never taught of it as animal labor when i choose the bats to be honest. a good few people have pointed it out tho. As per my previous responsive I said we could potentially look at it as rent and the bats give me fruit to stay nice and safe in the cave :P but if they didn't generate fruit I would let them stay regardless because I'm a a nice cozy farmer lol

I’m surprised you didn’t get pigs actually because the truffles they find are just dug up from the ground. They don’t make them therefore it wouldn’t be an animal product. You went with bats which is the same thing in my head as they ‘find’ the fruit. Not a criticism just an observation - really loved the premise and challenge of the video ☺️

that's correct but they can also be made with water :D, which is why I sold them :D I did a lot of Vegan food searching online before I started the challenge to ensure I would not mess up any of the rules to the best of my abilities :P The same goes for Bread too :D

Most but not all! I've made a lot of cookies in my youth with just flour, sugar, and plant based butter. Although I think it's called shortbread in English... But they're definitely cookies.

With the fishing rod you could have used it just for trash and seaweed. But thats probably not a great use of time. Great idea so interesting

Hi CariY :D Yes I managed to get to skull cavern before completing the vault bundles because of a community centre reward of 5 warp totems to the dessert thanks to a new Vegan bundle.

theoretically could you not still fish and just escape any hits on fish. not sure why you would other than possibly using green algae as an early game food or fishing trash to use in that machine (never remember the name) good video by the way, i really like the concept and as a vegetarian (even though most people think i’m a vegan person since i don’t like the texture of leather and don’t tend to eat eggs very often and i can’t stomach dairy)

i wonder whether you’d consider it part of you rules if you were to get a fish pond and you fished only if you put the fish in the pond? ethically i think it depends on who you ask as to whether you should keep fish as pets. then again there is usually a difference between fish you’d get at a pet store than just in a lake or something maybe instead of fishing them up yourself you could only get the fish from the travelling cart that comes on fridays and sundays. just furthering the concept of a vegan stardew valley

Hi unoreversecard :D The game would not let me fish up anything else until IO passed the fishing tutorial :P I tried several times but the tutorial kept popping up. Thanks for watching :D In relation to fishing in general I decided it would be more challenging for me to not fish at all with the exception of Linus's quest for trash .

Technically you failed because the spring onions canonically have bugs in them until Vincent teaches you to clean em. Bugs are defo not vegan lol

I'm doing a vegan run myself and I'd say that it's not about whether animal products are part of something but about whether your use/acquisition of that thing contributes to animal harm. If you come across leather boots in a chest then those boots already exist and the harm's already been done. It's not like you're purchasing them and subsidising the harm of animals or creating a market for such; and it's not like trashing the boots will make the animal come back. At this point I think that there's arguably not that big a difference between using the boots and throwing them away. Same with the lightning rod. Really I think that it's best to make use of resources that have already been exploited rather than needing to exploit more. Also, just to be contrary, I'm going to point out that the oil maker is crafted using slime. 😉

This video makes me wish i could comment with pictures so i could post a screenshot of my character Old McDonald playing on Anti-Vegan farm lmaoo No foraging, no farming (other than animal ranching of course), all money made can only be from animals/ animal products (so i did a *lot* of fishing until i could afford my first coop and chicken)

...If you can't use anything from animals wouldn't that mean that like not being able to use truffles that pigs find you also wouldn't be able to use the fruits that the bats find? ...Just a thought, as they are both items that animals find, you chose to use the fruit bat cave for the fruits but you said getting truffles was not good because they come from pigs...just something i noticed and thought i'd ask.

Hi davarrashayde6903, its a great question indeed. So in terms of the Bat cave, it didnt really cross my mind to be honest when I selected it. I didn't think at the time to myself " Ohh no, I cant do that because I am abusing bats by taking their hard earned food" so after It dawned on me, especially after I said I cant use truffles with Pigs I said to myself that the bats where gifting me the fruit for giving them a safe place to live :P

A lot of people have bought up the bat cave question. its a great question. As per my previous responsive I said we could potentially look at it as rent and the bats give me fruit to stay nice, safe & cozy in the cave :P

Fair enough Connie :D I looked at it in a way where I was upsetting their natural habitat so of course they where angry as I was this stranger who just turned up and started hacking away at stones and ores where they live lol. Would of been a different story if they entered my home and attacked me for sure :D
