Hearing you want to paint Morty: a friend of mine has choosen this guy for his HQ and we all in our gaming group asked him every time we met how he is doing so far. Half a year later (he just can paint on his weekend sparetime) he brought him to table and GOSH, what a paintjob! 😳 Take your time with this mini, its a real great one!

Speaking of Flesh Eater Courts, the book Ghoul Slayer nails the insanity of the FEC's nobility delusion.

The best part of the flesh eater courts are using their models for kitbashing chaos marines. Turning their Vargheists into spawn was perfect for my army. Their little ghoul bois are just a mountain of mutations, corpse bits, and maybe cultist conversions if you're creative enough. There's also that one amazing custom chaos lord out there with two lightning claws that uses the Archregent model as an amazing base for the conversion.

You can go with three easy Sylvaneth paint schemes. Regular green, Autumn leaves, Cherry Blossom. Use an airbrush and contrast paints to get a LOT of their textured surfaces!

I'd say for the Sylvaneth, you'll need 8-10 hours. From what I've heard, Sylvaneth can be tough to paint, especially if you want them to look nice. Also, build the Spite Revenant kit as Tree Revenants, they're the better pick on the tabletop. And get some Awakened Wyldwoods, they're 100% necessary for a Sylvaneth army.

I got the Imperial Fists... And the Adeptus Sororitas... And 2 Sororitas Combat Patrols... And Saint Katherine... And a Hospitalier, 2 sets of Retributors, Ghazghkull, 2 boxes of Mega Nobz, all the buggies, Trukk, big Mek, Killdakka Warband, Ork Combat Patrol, Mek Gunz, Gretchin, Leviathan Dread, The original Red Gobbo... One hell of a Christmas for me!

I’d prefer to see what you could do with 12 hours of paint time. 6 is fine, but with some extra time for basing and finishing I think you would make an amazing looking army. Check out greenstuffworld’s leaf punches for some very cool basing additions

I have heard that the flesh eater courts were not the old ghouls but in fact they were the Bretons in the old world. When Age of Sigmar came the Breton Empire was destroyed and the people there were somehow cursed and became the flesh eater courts. They still think they are Bretons and are noble Knights etc. and have dinners and feasts instead of eating raw flesh. However its what a Warhammer Store guy told me. ;) Even if this is not the correct lore, it sounds a way more tragic then if they are just the old ghouls.

Hey there. I just finished painting Durthu and it took me around 30 hours to paint it to a very high table top standard so depending how you paint your sylvaneth, it would probably take a couple days. Love your videos! Keep up the great work!

Fun tip, find some sexy tea leaves that are the right shape and stick them like leaves to the Sylvaneth for beautiful leaves or bark. Chamomile and other herbals are fantastic for this, and you're models will smell nice too 🤣 I based some gretchins with peppermint tea and 1 year later they still smell minty fresh!

I bought this year's and even last year's Death Guard boxes for Christmas this year, going off into the deep end of the pool on them, no dipping my toes into this faction. Especially after listening to Lords of Silence. Edit: I paused the video the moment I saw the DG box and commented, and then continued watching.

After your mention of Scar(from the Lion King) being a necromancer, I took about 30 minutes looking into what I thought I had remembered of him raising tons of skeletal hyenas in the song be prepared... they are in fact all live hyenas, just not the main 3 that we're introduced to as actual characters... I do vividly remember them being undead, but I don't think it's ever directly implied that he raised the dead to fight the war TL;DR: You def mandella'd me into remembering Scar as a necromancer even if it wasn't actually a plot point

For the Sylvaneth, I'd say paint it in a day. Still a challenge that'll get it done quickly, but if you think you can do it in 6 hours, do it in 12 or 18 and have as much fun as you can with it.

6 hours would be impressive to paint that entire box - maybe you could do 6 hours for table ready and then add optional steps to make them the creme de la creme Jay special Sylvaneth, at least for the characters. Looking forward to see what colour scheme you go for 👀👀👀 They are a really fun faction to play too if you get the chance. Thanks for the content 👍

Sylvaneth are really cool, BUT they are the hardest to build GW models. Have fun spending 30 minutes rotating a little organic chunk of bark until you FINALLY figure out how it fits on to that other organic chunk of bark.

Give yourself 8 hours to do the sylvaneth box. Call it the 9 to 5 challenge. Make sure to take a 30 minute unpaid break where you have to sit and watch the clock tick down and fret about how you could be painting in that time.

Sylvaneth are really really fast to paint. I only wetblend white and green using green on the arms and white on the body, pick up the leaves with red and yellow and do one wash of aggrax. They are done. You could definitely do the whole army in less than 12 hours

I’d say a put a solid 8 hours. Just a good solid regular ass work day of paint into them. And if you get done in 6 then you have some extra time to add leaves to branches or something.

The syllvaneth have always looked kinda cool. But I found out about them after I already had plenty of other factions on the go. But I expect I'll get a small number at some point if only for the interesting painting change they'd offer. I have plenty of tree making materials from the model railway stuff I have, so static grass and flocking would probably be used I expect to make them feel a bit more alive and not stuck in autumn or winter.

there are a lot of very small and thin branches and details to paint on the Sylvaneth, so I am thinking at least 12 hours for the painting. But it depends on how detailed you want to paint it.

I actully had motarion laying around for my deathguard for over a year before i had the balls to paint him. Took 2 weeks to do him, even with me painting 4 to 8 hours a day. But then i use like 6 to 10 hours on a normal deathguard plauge marine

Challenge, every 5 Sylvaneth models you paint a death guard, so you have your armies ready aroun the same time.

The flesheaters are different from what they had been, they used to be the Strigoi line of vampires who were the more feral and animalistic ones.

treelords are BIG complex models if you want to get them up to your normal standard, 6 hours for JUST the 2 treelords is being ambitious id say for the full box your looking at maybe 8-10 hours for a decent paintjob, any less then that and your gonna be cutting real corners my box of sylvaneth (lady of vines, 3 kurnoth hunters and the 5 lfying bug guys) took me maybe 15-20 hours between them (and i havent finished my treelord yet) but i wasnt trying to speedpaint

Gotta say, the FEC are far more interesting lore wise then you give credit. The shared delusions of the courts is a very distinct thing from the Soulblights. The model range isn't even bad imo, we just need like 2-3 kits to really flesh it out.

It was a hard choice between the knights or the Death Guard...but my want for Mortarian won. Though if I randomly see a Skaven box for semi good price, I'll probably buckle under pressure. But my wife getting her Nighthaunts was a done deal as soon as pre-orders went out. Thankfully she already has her Tree army. You're going to have fun with them. And speaking of year of Warhammer...Henry Cavill moving on from Geralt and Superman...to 40K FINALLY

He’s relatively easy to paint, get a good white (liquitex heavy body acrylic is good), some nice gold, purple, blue and magenta, and follow a tutorial, that’s how I painted my first HQ a few years ago

Yeah it definitely wont sell a lot, GW probably knows that too. Id say a good chunk of its sales will be from people simply thinking it looks cool and want to paint something new and fun. I could see a lot conversions with this though. I got a sylvaneth box too!! Finally dipping my toe into AoS and definitely was intrigued by the trees haha
