spoiled turnipS is still a plural item. It's treated by the game as one item (like a stack of ten turnips being one item) it just doesn't tell you it's COUNTING it like 10 anymore. So they're only 10 bells each to sell. Selling "one" turnip is actually selling ten of them so you would get 810 bells for the one item.
