It's been a while since I listened to this song. I got the chills - seriously, goosebumps all over my body. Gosh, I'm crying. She's also a great songwriter and musician, and I agree with you on the "haunting voice" in a most beautiful way. Her soul speaks to mine.

Hello from France. Thank you for posting this video. Lara's mother suffered from Alzheimer's disease. The people featured in this clip are family members or very close friends. It's a very beautiful song that deals with a painful subject, my mother died with Alzheimer's disease, it's a difficult situation for the person affected but also enormously for those around him. This song, so well written, makes me cry every time

Thanks for the great reaction Matt. As i see, you understood the meaning even without having read my comments beforehand😉. Lara's voice is really something special, she has this warmth and softness in it that differs from other voices, whether she sings softly or powerfully. In addition, she is a wonderful person, inside and outside. By the way, i don't see your Lara playlist anywhere.

Hi there, great choice indeed. Very simple, very true, very touching for this testimony on this pathology that is really difficult to live with... as much for the victim as for the relatives. Very hard to see the soul of a person vanish before his/her body... Empathy for Lara and family as well as all who were faced to such diseases. Love.

I know what you mean about Lara's voice. Haunting is a good description which goes along with soul-stirring, unforgettable, nostalgic, powerful. I often wonder who is moved by her music as I am. Her emotions speak to me, as someone who has suffered depression for a majority of my life. Her voice is very soothing and allows me to transcend. Thanks for your reaction video.

Very emotional song. All the people participating in the video are related to Lara and her mother, who suffers from a debilitating disease. Very heart-touching.! You can see my mother at the end of the video. #larafabian

I think it's important to know that Lara's mother suffered from a neurodegenerative disease and she wrote this song for her. All the people in this video are members of Lara's family, she told them to look at the camera as if they were looking at Luisa (Lara's mom). Her face is the last in the video and she died in 2019. I'm looking forward to it and thank you very much for making this reaction.

Lara is well-known for singing songs about the human condition, many of which are intensely personal. This song is very sad and makes me emotional. It resonates more and more with people like me. My own mother's life ended in "oubli" and maybe it will be my fate. Lara is a master of expression and her voice is like high quality lead crystal - it is thick, powerful and heavy. Run your finger around a crystal wine glass, listen to it ring! It penetrates you. Run your finger around other commercial glasses and there is little resonance. That's most other singers. Ronstadt has, in my opinion a lead crystal voice.

It’s very hard to explain the unique God given tone and talent of Lara Fabian. There is a deep tone and special resonance that hits our inner soul. She wrote this song and in video her mother is the last woman looking into camera right before we see Lara at very end. Her mother passes about 5 years ago.

Per you request, let me try to explain the uniqueness and beauty of her voice. I think what his striking us is that she combines 2 things that we would imagine as antagonistic. One one side that crystal-clear and resonant sound, on the other side that fullness, warmth, soothing quality. Most other singers have one or the other. Some have both but only alternatively. Lara is the unicorn in the sense she can deliver both simultaneously. And in addition she has this vocal control and vocal awareness that allows her to never cross that line where the voice would become piercing, or feel stretched, where we would perceive pain and get uncomfortable. So her belts or upper register for instance are always satisfying, we have the feeling it is easy and natural to her and could last forever. She also has this rare capacity to combine power and breathiness in her lows, using her vocal skills as well as her fantastic mic technic. I adore her lows, as I also do when it comes to Toni Braxton. A reactor once rightfully said: "She has got this amazing brassiness to her voice but at the same time a crystal clear edge. To me, having that brassiness speaks of power and robustness. But that crystal-clear resonance gives that soaring quality. And singers that are able to have both at the same time, very rare, they are the ones that just really hit you, if that makes sense. If it’s just clear and resonant, but doesn’t have that robust trumpet like quality, that brassiness, then it can sound a bit harsh, it can sound almost screeching. A lot of the power metal singers or you even the 70s / 80s rock guys, they sound great, a lot of them have a lot of power, but it sounds very shrill and clear with a lot of that trumpety thickness. But she has this warmth, that real bellowing backbone to the sound as well as that resonance. And so it’s sound so good.”

Saluti a presto.

Great reaction once again. Please react to this version of Lara performing "Je T'aime" live at the 11th annual World Music Awards, held in Monaco on 5 May 1999. She won the Best Selling Benelux Recording Artist Award that year. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9mBZKlo1JzTl3k.html This video shows Lara's vocal ability that's appreciated by experts in the music industry attending in the audience. Thanks a lot.
