Its pretty much a DLC for $10 with a bonus of texture upgrades. For the price and what it's adding, it's pretty good.

For 10 bucks to upgrade I'm okay with the re-release. There are some things that actually add to and improve the game.

It reminds me of Ghost of Tsushima Final Cut but without the DLC. Not too bad and makes new comers to the game buy it on PS5 instead of PS4 and enjoy the game. And $10 for an upgraded visuals is not too bad.

In terms of graphics, no, its not worth it, TLOU 2 looks amazing on PS4, but they will add a few costumes, new mods of playing, i belive new guns and only costs 10 bucks. Its 100% a buy for me !

I think it’s been done mostly to siphon off the HBO series hype as well as get the game to the PC market. Regardless of how it was reviewed, I’m pretty sure PT 1 sold exceptionally well on PC.

I'm here for it!❤ These remasters don't take away development time for the mainline titles and people don't have to buy them. I don't get why people are so upset about it. These games are masterpieces and deserve to be remastered as much as possible imo.

In my opinion, this is a game I will play several times in my life. Probably once every couple of years till I die... So if I get an upgraded version to play every time, that is totally fine with me.

TLOU part II remastered is very necessary especially for those that didn’t play the game when it was on ps4.

Naughty Dog signed itself its end-of-life sentence in gaming with the path they choose to tread on through Last of Us 2.

Absolutely worth the money. It has all of the Director’s Cut type stuff that Part 1 has plus more? For $10? That’s a bargain. Plus, it’ll hold me over until FFVII: Rebirth in late February. Can’t wait.

At first I was pissed. But this truly is a slight HD upgrade. They did the same for the first game, upgrade a year later on PS4. This for only $10 isn’t charging twice for nothing. Gives new players a chance at a great game and older buyers a cheap upgrade path

I think the concern for me has to do with ND releasing 2.5 games during the PS4 life cycle plus that TLOU remaster. Three years in to the PS5 and it’s been upgrade, remake and upgrade of previous work. But it’s the craving for something new that drives the concern. It can be fair and unfair to compare with other studios insomniac is on fire releasing 3 games thus far. Guerrilla released horizon plus DLC. SM released God of war Ragnarok . Truth be told these latter studios may release one or no more games for the rest of the generation.

This is the only game where I mapped out everything for the sequel from beginning to end and for my first ever next gen experience, I thought it the game was great alone but I'll open up to a remaster at that price

I have a theory that this was supposed to be released alongside factions. Since it's been put on the back burner, and this leaked, they announced it to hold us over till either they finally release factions or ND's next IP is introduced.

All I know is they better let you use your full NG+ load outs and upgrades in every encounter. Idk if it was an oversight or a purposeful decision but robbing me of the ability to fight scars with a silenced mp5 is sick.

Idk about everyone else but I hope they fix the Ammo Capacity. Example: When you upgrade the Pistol from 6 Bullets to 10 Bullets yet you can only have 6 Bullets for reserve and not pick up extra ammo. The same goes for the other guns when you upgrade them. Hope they fix it.

I'm not playing it yet. So it's good for me. I'll wait til January to play the game. Now I'll play Tsushima first.

Pretty excited for the spider man 2 remake.

The new PS5 version will be running at 60/1440p upscaled to 4K, but the current PS4 version is already running at 60fps/1440p on PS5. Sure, it has a little bit better textures and shadows, but those are quite difficult to notice. I'm not saying it's a bad deal though, but this remaster was created mainly with the upcoming PC version in mind.

not if the games digital you can just port the game over to next console ..repeat if its going to look good or very good using next console specs you dont want a remaster they have to remake it even if it costs more

This remaster is for those with a PS5 as thier first console same way I played Tlou1 Remastered on PS4 for first time because i never had a PS3. TLOU Part 1 and now Part 2 is for the same reason...people with PS5 as first console. Same is with PS+Extra,that sub is for those who bought a PS5 for the first time and don't have games. I will not buy this Upgrade because i already played TLOU2 on PS4Pro and now on PS5 trough Back Compatibility is fine enough even if it is 1440p max res with PS4 fidelity settings. Example: My cousin will buy his first Playstation this Christmas,so instead buying the PS4 version he will buy Part1 and Part2 both PS5 optimized. I hope this helps.

I think the frustration of this remaster comes from the fact that ND has no new games for ps5 and now 3 remasters in the first 3 years of PS5

The first one was remastered for PS4 within just a year from the original release.

I mean Ghost of Tsushima needed one even less (coming only 1 year after it’s PS4 release and offering almost no tangible gains aside from a slight bump from 1800p to 2160p res, better dubs, and minor haptics as it already had a free 60 fps upgrade before it), but I still see people praising that one calling it ‘the best PS5 game’ in Playstation spaces online. So I’m not really surprised that Sony thinks players want this. And I don’t get why ND is any different here. Either all of them are ok, or none of them are. And this picking and choosing makes no sense. Personally, console doesn’t get upgrades like PC has access to with new hardware unless a dev goes out of their way to do so. Unless we get a report that another project suffered because of work on these upgrades (which here seems to have been appropriately done by new staff to cut their teeth in the engine and I think that’s fine) then they offer nothing but benefits for those who want something like this. No one is entitled to free work from others so 10 bucks is appropriate and it shouldn’t automatically always ‘be free’. And there are legit no downsides here. Even games like GTA 5’s couple remasters each gen. If Rockstar hadn’t done those I garauntee people would be complaining that ‘GTA 5 needs an update on console’, much like they currently are with GTA 4, Red Dead 2, Arkham Knight, and others. So do players want these or don’t they? They send mixed messages and it comes off as really weird when viewing from afar.

Why are you guys asking this question for this remaster like it's new thing, when Sony has been releasing remaster every 2 to 3 years for all thier games. Example Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, got a PS5 upgrade in about 3 years, also Uncharted remaster. This ain't new and isn't a problem.

No it is not necessary because it's not only the same but because they're putting some new mode or model swapping mode in the game because they knew how terrible this storytelling really is. Only games from decades deserve a real remake, not some games that aren't even that old. And lastly, they should've wait until release on ps5 because of the future generation of gaming which would've made sense because I personally feel since the remastered was announced, they released it on ps4 too early.

First of all, it's really getting annoying having to pad out the durations of these videos with the gameplay footage still. They really could've done without that for the sake of pacing. And second, at the very least with this, unlike the Part 1 "Remake" this at least actually had both an upgrade path AND new features that actually warrant the need to considerably upgrade to said PS5 release of Part 2. 7:00 - Also, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Saints Row 4 was good in itself, what's your problem?

We should also be calling out Nintendo for constantly re-releasing their back catalog countless times. But Nintendo is, of course, immune to this criticism. Almost exclusively for nostalgia from middle-aged people reflecting back on their memories they had with the game. But at least with Nintendo they usually wait a LITTLE longer than 3 years to re-release.

Sony will not purposelessly make a remaster of a 3 years old game and sell it as a 10$ upgrade for existing owners. It definitely seems, there's a big plan behind it and the plan is, they're going to release it for PC later 2024 with a whopping price tag of 70$

No, it should be free. BUT it’s super cheap and I really want the extra outfits and survival mode it comes with so fuck it. It’ll probably be the only game I spend money on until Hellblade or Grand Theft Auto 6 come out.
