The problem that I have with game reviewers is that they think 20 or 30 hours is not long for me that’s a lot of stuff to do in a game. I’m a Patient slow gamer, who enjoys the story and will probably do the side activities more than I will do the main story right off the bat, they have to rush and beat everything in two weeks before the game comes out because they need to upload a review

This means I played though Spiderman on PS4 5 years ago? Feels like 2 years ago, what the heck! Time flies, holy crap. When I was a child and when I was a teenager 5 years was a life time.

As an adult gamer, 25-30 hours to do everything sounds AMAZING.

30hr platinum makes this a 10/10 for me. I cannot take these open worlds designed for you to spend 200hrs in them. Got stuff to do

Terrible opinion on the upgrades and progression system. I thought they did it perfectly. Not too basic and not too complicated. And you can feel every upgrade and feel most if not all felt purposeful

I think they could have improved the camera when you're swinging to give you a more personal look at spiderman as he swings through the city.

For those who will undoubtedly complain about the game only requiring 30 hrs to platinum, how do you have so much time? Do you not have a job? Do you not do anything else with your lives?

24 hrs of game completion isnt bad, because you gonna replay it. But i dont know if you can replay story missions. I wanna fight Venom over and over again.

Would like to know whether Peter’s mechanical arms are able to turn off/on ? Or is it by default throughout the game?

It seems this game improved on many aspects of the first game like bosses, qtes, enemy variety, combat and gadgets, web slinging and traversal, graphics and animations but failed to improve on the open world design. The repetitive structure of the side quests and infinite grinding is still in this game like the first one. That was my only grip with the first game as well. Still not every game can reinvent the wheel on the open world design. There are only a couple of games who managed to do this like Elden Ring, Zelda and Red Dead Redemption 2. These games established a new way to approach open world design without the need of a bloated repetitive structure just to add more content in the game, like 95% of open world games. Despite all that I strongly believe this is worthy of a game of the year nomination bare minimum. It's a well polished and improved sequel. Top 4 games of 2023 easily along with Zelda, Baldur's Gate 3 and RE4 Remake

I think one of the problem with Sony 1st party games right now are the story. It seems that they are rushing it too much. Like for example how God of War Ragnarok ended. The same with Horizon Forbidden West which is obviously rushed and was not elaborated even after having the DLC. Anyway still good to see that Spiderman 2 is a polish game

After completing Spider Man 2 and hitting 100% I will say, it was an enjoyable game, however I feel like it was lacking something. The first one was a breath of fresh air because of the years of decent spider men games lead to the PS4 one being epic. 2 just felt okay to me. I can see why it wasn't necessarily a GOTY contender. Maybe the extra content they announced may take it there. here's hoping.

As a PlayStation Stan I have to be honest they have kinda not been hitting the mark with the first party sequels like visually and gameplay wise the games horizon,gow,tlou2 improve tremendously but the story always seems to be a bit lack luster or underwhelming

When every enemy is a sponge, and your supposed to be a SUPERHERO, can’t possibly be higher than a 7. Damage upgrades still takes combos to take out even the easiest enemies haha Ppl will accept anything these days.

The only issue I have with what I've seen of the game is it's a game in 2023 still using quick-time events. That "(O) *dodge* ..........(X) *shoot web* .......(∆) *Punch* ........ *Mash R1+ R2* in the middle of cutscenes that wowed us in 2005. The same format we saw in Indigo Prophecy and God of War for PS2. Why are developers still doing this in 2023?

Blame enhanced lighting and RT in games. We’re not ready for it yet. Also not ready for RT because the size of the mapping is so big in this game you get a basic display of ray traced reflections what I mean is I would rather have good shaders which we’ve seen in the past rather than for example seeing a real time reflected spider man looking back at me on a window full of aliasing and a tree in the back ground with the none rendered version staring back at me. Those imperfections implemented in this version of RT is more distracting than the RT technology itself! Spider-Man 1 & miles morales had this but no way near as bad as spider man 2 does. When lighting and RT is implemented a lot of strain is put on the hardware. Unfortunately we start to see things such as aliasing and poor textures, circular rough shapes such as poor polygon smoothening and low resolution on street signs such as decals and emergency vehicles. Still using a Low res sky box as colour banding is still present day and night around the soles trials objects where lighting gets stretched. In most cases this is where a film grain effect can soften the blow to the effect of colour distortion and banding but in this game it has little to no effect same as its previous titles… ..Shimmering is way worse In Spider-Man 2 even though they said it would be less noticeable than previous titles and artifacts in draw distances such as this are extremely unpleasant, and a jarring eye sore. It’s the price you pay for lighting. Plague Tale Requim has similar issues.. makes me concerned for unreal engine 5 when it’s all about lighting. All the hard work to get good textures and anti aliasing and high resolution assets seem to be getting downgraded and swapped out for lighting. Each to their own but I personally can’t call that a technical achievement other than the good frame rates we can now achieve.

I’m tired of people calling the symbiote Venom🤦🏾‍♂️ Venom is the symbiote merged with someone AFTER Peter gets it off🤦🏾‍♂️ in most cases that person is Eddie Brock. Thought this was common sense🤦🏾‍♂️

Dunno what happened with the capture, but the graphics in the Miles gameplay fighting Kraven dudes in the back alley seems atrociously washed out and undetailed

sorry, can't watch just yet. i want to be surprised and enjoy this Spidey experience blind and fresh. i have managed to stay completely clear of any reviews or previews. Spiderman (and Miles) are the only storyline video game(s) that i have re-played multiple times, it's that good for me. It's even pre-ordered... I can't remember the last game i did, i know Insomnia won't disappoint.

I dont want to be that guy but i guniully am left disappointed I fangirled so over this game but i guss didnt live up to my expectations like repetitive storylines and the combat is the same don't get me wrong gow had the same combat for five games but at least made then distinct enough but this didn't feel distinct the story is perfect honestly couldn't ask for anything else but the side activities didn't feel good the story feels kinda rushed and contricding but a spider man fan would love this game and i wont bitch on too much about it and the symbiote combat made me feel like a kid playing web of shadows on my xbox 360 oh god😂 So a 6 or 7/10.
